Lemmings are afraid.

While I do warrant that people with the wii have some basis to bash the ps3, we've seen a lot of lemmings go full throttle in order to try to justify their purchase.

But why?

That's a good question. It may be considered fun to feel on top of things, constantly pushing someone down, but its a lot worse than the Sega/SNES days. These 360 fans are ruthless to a hair here or a glitch here. Or a frame rate here. It's getting out of hand.

Well its a big form of indirect damage control.

Indirect damage control involves pushing down the other console in order to make the console look better from one aspect.

Example 1)

PS3 and Wiis has very little hardware issues. However, a lemming will feel threatened and blatantly attack the PS3 side without warrant. (Wii bashing threads are pretty balanced.) They'll name off some "flop" or that it costs too much or doesn't have "any games." While this form is rediculously idiotic to the point that even post is a flame to the ps3.

This is a form of indirect damage control.

And since moderators don't take this into account, people can say anything they want about the ps3, even going as far as lewd and innappropriate behavior.

Example 2)

You bring up a point that Halo looks a bit too colorful (opinion). Then you're faced with an "anti-sony/cow/ps3" flame. Whereas there have been cases when this was a wii owner.

In defense of the PS3:

We have enough games, even if many of them are multiplatform, remakes. They're all very good games, even some are still being played. And yet you pass up the opportunity to open your minds to the possibility that something like Resistance might actually be fun online.

I respect a game like Bioshock (although its not my interest persay), but I do think you have to give props to a few games (like revamped Ninja Gaiden, Resistance and Motorstorm). These games play well (as an example) and they certainly have their aqcuired tastes in games.

I'm sorry. It's over. The PS3 is not a failure. It has a nice solid increment of consoles and game systems.

And yes, this is damage contol.

It could also be that some of those lemmings actually bought the PS3 hoping for a great system, only to have their hopes and dreams of sony goodness dashed by the horrible marketing and development that sony has implemented with this she man system they try to pass off on us that ends up being an inferior system (doubly bad when it's worse than its 100 odd dollar cheaper counterpart both in specifications and game development)

So far, two of the most hyped games for the PS3 since launch are seeming to be mediocre at best. I'm a pretty strict Cow, but I'm not blind. I can see that Sony's "omg" lineup isn't doing as well as everyone had hoped.

This doesn't really concern me much, since I like my PS3, and the games coming out for it. But I hardly think its something the Lemmings would be jealous/afraid of. and who's to say what 08 will bring for the 360.

i'm kinda one of those. i gave up and sold the ps3 this week, i usually make a point of owning all 3 but Sony has really lost it and all of the games i was looking forward to in the near future are getting **** on by reviewers left right and center. i figure i'll be able to buy another one for cheaper if any really good games come out - but as it stands it just makes no sense to own it really, unless you're really rich :) or a diehard sony fan.

True. I'm afraid of what Cows might do themselves if this floppage streak and general bad Sony news does not come to and end soon.

Parents, if your child is in the posession of a PS3, please keep the medicine cabinet locked and make sure that he or she stays away from sharp objects. And please, do seek professional help before it's too late.

No one's denying the problems with the 360. But the problems of the PS3 seem to be causing more damage.

Take for example NPD figures for July. Despite the hardware failures of the 360 and the price drop of the PS3. What happened? PS3 sold better for a week. But the 360 STILL sold more for the month.

I really don't sense any fear.

controls? tendency? I don't even know what that could possibly mean in this context....let alone the fact that you can't argue the games come out earlier, cost less, and look better on 360. Live Gold is not required, in fact, most 360 owners don't have it. Same goes for reliability, most owners don't have poor reliability (even if we go off the 33% fail rate)

Oh I'm not gonna read all that garbage.... I read the first paragraph or so.... and wake up man... Cows are just as bad if not worse.... Forza 2 is supposedly crap because it's pretty, not OMGWTFPWNZORZ PHOTOREALISTIC! Halo3 is a big "ol FLOP and sucks because the BETA was mediocre in visuals.... Where are they now... I was on here after E3 2005 saying they look cool but don't get the hype train going just yet because some of those Dev's haven't proven they deserve the hype and cows jumped all over me...I wish my post history went back that far because I would love to rez that thread...

Uncharted looks good def AA maybe AAA

R&C would surprize me if it didn't get AAA

Metal Gear is Metal Gear it will be amazing

GT5 when it finally arrives will be great (esp with all the improvements) and a handful of others look sweet too

but IMO cow get what was coming to them for over hyping Lair, HS, and Warhawk...I know the reviews have not come in yet from GS but with the amount of hype these titles had they were doomed to flop

I'm basically a Lemming, and I am in no way afraid. Not sure what I should be afraid of anyway, that a company that doesn't give a crap about its customers beats the other company that doesn't give a crap about its customers? I'm a consumer first, gamer second.

Besides, the Xbox 360 has a stellar lineup as it stands, and the future is looking even better.

It was more towards bullying the system itself whereas covering the other consoles supposed issues. You didn't seem to back up your claim as to why it wasn't the case. The title caught your attention obviously.

Yea, thats all great, but really, the PS3 has no really good games that interest me. Resistance is just boring(lame combat system, weapons make me yawn (though I do have a liking to the shield gun)), Motorstorm is cool for the first hour and a half, (or two if you even try to drive with the sixaxis), and pretty much everything else I can get on 360 for 10 bucks less.

But I dont regret buying a PS3, as even though I hate to say it, I just have to wait... namely MGS4, and maybe a few other good games I come across along the way, like kilzone 2, which seems to be shaping up really nicely.
