Anyone with sense could see that Halo 3 will be a sales monster. Just like I am sure Mario Galaxy and MGS will sell great when they come out.

Its just Halo has such a passionate fanbase (see Halo 2's launch) that its opening weekend will challenge the best that Hollywood could come up with.

Halo 3 will sell fine. Fanboys need to stop crying. Mind you since this gen is early for it' release it probably won't do Halo 2 overall numbers cause the 360 doesn't have the same base as the xbox did when Halo2 came out. Same thing can be said for MGS4 and the PS3 or well, just about all sequels really lol

Honestly, I don't think any single game will "own" the holiday, since there are so many great games that are being released in the 2nd half of 2007.

Super Smash Bros. Melee sold just as much if not more than Halo 2, Maybe it won't outsell this holiday season(I still think it will be close), but in the longrun, It will be an extremely close race to see who will sell more between Smash Bros. Brawl and Halo 3. Also, if you want to speak in terms of the holiday season, Halo will have been sold and bought by everyone who wants it by the end of October, which isnt Holiday season. SSBB on the other hand comes out right in the middle of the holday season, so to be politically correct, SSBB will sell more this holiday season because it doesnt come out unitl halfway through it, while Hale 3 will have sold its millions before holiday season even hits. bigcalkenobi

Last time I checked Halo 2 still had SSBM beat in sales, kind of close but still not at or higher.
