[QUOTE="KeyWii"]They've been using the Gears of War graphics card for months now... How many games will need to suprass it graphically before they admit it's not the greatest thing God ever created.
I am sure Lemmings were hoping to switch their hype machine over to Forza 2, or even Halo 3 a lot sooner, but instead those games' graphics have fallen into cracks of obscurity.
So you've leapfrogged most of your major games and headed straight to Mass Effect. Can we find the common denominator for the Lemming hype machine? Unreal Engine 3. Can your machine not produce a good looking next-gen game without it? I guess I can think of one, Bioshock, but it's coming to PC so thats pretty much a multi-plat (Hello PS3)
PlayStation 3 has GT:HD, F1, MotorStorm, Lair, Drake's Fortune, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, & R:FOM all producing great looking graphics without the need for UE3. However, I am glad our machine supports UE3 all the same.The_Game21x
You act as if the 360 isn't going to improve and that it doesn't have great looking exclusives that don't use UE3. Besides, it's just a graphics engine. Even it can be made to look like crap in the hands of a terible developer. It takes talented developers to create great looking games using that engine, and appropriately powerful hardware. The same goes for any graphics engine.
Another thing is, there are a good number of multiplatform games that look and perform better on the Xbox 360. And don't hand me that "bu...bu...the developers need more time!" excuse because that's not going to fly here. Last gen, the Xbox was proven to be more powerful than the PS2 on day one. Games such as DOA 3 which is still, after all these years one of the best looking games of the previous gen, blew away even the PS2's best second gen offerings graphically. The same is not true this time. The Xbox 360 has shown it's graphical superiority with Gears of War, which, even though the PS3 is supposed to be more powerful than the 360, outshines everything available on the PS3 right now.
In terms of graphical prowess, the Xbox 360 has PGR 3, DOA 4, Gears of War, GRAW and many others, available right now, which really show off the system's power. Gears of War is not the only game. Stop making excuses as to why the PS3 can't outperform the 360 right now and why the best looking games use UE3. Think of it like a car. UE3 is just an engine. Without the proper fuel (developers, and the Xbox 360 itself), it can't do anything.
And yet again, my post is bypassed by the TC...hmm...I wonder why?
