Lemmings: Its time to stop hyping too human

This game is awful. It has the ambition, but it doesn't deliver.

The framerate is terrible

The animations are terrible

The story is laughable, and the most cliche thing ever.

The combat is satisfying but it really has no depth.

Shooting is mindless, no need to aim really.

I could beat all the fights while not looking at the screen.

Seriously, while this is better than Lair and Haze, if we keep hyping it it will go down that road. So heed my advice and stop the hype now.

Edit: OH YEAH... THEY SPENT 10 YEARS AND 100 MILLIONS DOLLARS ON THIS??? WTF THIS IS RIDICULOUS! GEARS HAD AN 8 MILLION DOLLAR BUDGET WTF? MICROSOFT WHY WOULD YOU LET THIS GAME BE ON OUR SYSTEM?

I started to lmao after I saw your sig.

It was pretty good, not the best game I have ever played by a long shot but I like plenty of games that didn't get a game reviewers seal of uber-ultraness.

Agreed. It is a great game. It will not win any goty awards or anything, but it will be a very different, yet solid experience that will easily have a very loyal following.

i really enjoyed the demo. i loved the combat, simple yet very nuanced. Voice acting was top notch, cutscenes were well directed and the overall setting felt very cool. Graphics were good in parts, average in others, but its a dungeon crawler, so thats sorta forgivable. I'd suggest playing through it at least twice before judging the combat, some of the advanced moves take a while to click, but once they do :). Camera's fine, not half as bad as NG2, just pull it out to iso view, you can re-centre it instantly at any point. I don't get the moaning on that front.

I really am stoked for this game.

as a Lem, I'd have to agree. After playing the Demo, I'd have to say the AA hype I gave it was wrong. The controls are flat out BAD. The camera is horrible. The graphics are nothing special. The game makes no sense story wise. Like seriously what the hell are you supposed to be and what the hell is going on? I'll give the demo another shot, but man oh man those controls are garbage.......xsubtownerx

Well gee Einstein, most games never make sense story wise in the demo. Do you think they are going to give away key plot points or any major twists FOR FREE? I'd love to have some of whatever you're smoking if you think that.

Yes. And the aiming. And having to tap RB to center the cam every 3 seconds.

i can easily see getting bad reviews, but getting bad PREVIEWS???!?!?!!!! You know a game is bad when that happens because as awful as lair or haze was, they both received good previews

but in all honesty, i really liked the game, i just found it really odd that a game this heavily hyped would get such bad previews

theres nothing broken about haze just it adds nothing new to the fps genre and it has a cheezy story other then that its a solid fps shooter......and i must admit while lair HAD bad controls...they have released a download where you can use the analog sticks for flying....so its not the same game that was rated 4.5...or whatever score it got

Too Human sucks just face the facts

Just got done playing the demo and an hour went by without even realizing it. Based on the demo, it's a solid game.

The Good:

- Cool architecture and environments help immerse you

- Nice loot. Equipping your character to look B.A. is fun.

- Combat is generally fun while staying simple

- The skill trees seem cool and will add to the fun

The Bad:

- Graphics are technically underwhelming

- Stiff animations

- The menu moves slow, which can be frustrating

I also want to say that don't forget that this game is meant to played in co-op. I had a fun time in the demo by myself, so I know when I can play with my friend we're going to have a good time.

What's the problem?

I played the Too Human demo, and I thought it was fun. The combat definitely had room for depth, and you get tons of loot. The story was decent too, even if there were a few cliche lines (though at least it seemed like the other characters were rolling their eyes at them). The only real issue is that the animation is pretty terrible. Watching the soldiers run up the stairs in the first cutscene was laughable. Also, it's a bit annoying how slow the menu navigation can be. But besides that, it's good and fun. It'd be a blast in co-op. I look forward to playing through it again.

It's really not terrible by any stretch of the imagination. I think it'll probably get an A or AA score.

Fair enough, i didn't like them much at first either, but i got use to them. I found it's not a game that gives the best first impressions, but more grows on you like a fungus. I just think they were idiots to not include co-op in the demo.

hmmm i guess i got more out of the demo than most people i though it was a solild A-AA game nothing too amazing but its not bad i really like loot collecting and this game delivers on the loot and the skill trees, the story is actually pretty good, and i dint notice too bad of a frame-rate drop it just takes getting used to, this game is going to be another Overlord a lot of people hated the camera and control/story others liked it like me.

regardless i will probably be called a fanboy so flame away...
