How many threads have we seen showing how comparable the Wii is to last-gen? Apparentaly they are forgetting that they themselves have gone thru that very same thing two years ago!

You call the Wii last gen, so was the Xbox 360.

Tony Hawk: American Wasteland

Bomberman: Act Zero

Sonic the Hedgehog

There are many more, but due to space restrictions, I could not put them.

Stop being blind! Back in 2005, you kept begging for the other fanboys to wait, because it's only the first year! But now you are doing the same thing on everybody else!

Did you ever think that maybe the Wii (and maybe even the PS3) could get great stuff just like the 360 did?

The thing is, Wii owners don't need to wait. We have Twilight Princess, easily the best single-player game to launch with a console in this century. And we have WarioWare, Wii Sports, and Rayman, which are some of the best games ever made for groups. Only loners with no friends need to wait. The rest of us, personally I take my Wii to my friends' house every weekend because it's just that damned fun. And we ain't no kids. :P

Please refresh my memory, cause last time I checked the graphics in Condemned, Kameo, PDZ, PGR3, and DOA4 proved that the 360 was next gen at the time!

They convinced hardcore lemmings, but they didn't do very well in convincing the mass market, considering how badly all of them except DOA4 has sold.

It is true, the Lemmings defended themselves. Although they needed not to, because Kameo, Condemned, and many other games look better than any game on the PS3/Wii

So if their pasts are so similar, is the Wii going to have a game like Gears after one year? No.

No, in TP they complained that the Wiimote seemed tacked on. It still made the game better, however, poorly it was implemented. And you must be one of the people I'm talking about, those who need to wait. :P Seriously, not everyone plays games that shake the room with explosions. In fact, most people don't play games like that. Most people, people who actually have lives outside of the living room, enjoy lighthearted games that don't demand a significant time investment.

I think I remember reading somewhere that PGR 3 was very close to 1 million a couple of months ago. And I'd say PGR 3 made some pretty big headlines, like the GTHD one on the PS3 website.

PDZ looked great. The others are pretty much just ports. What's sad is that the Wii's first party games look like crap.

I'm saying casuals decide the winner, whether hardcores like it or not. And no Wii game has suffered because of the Wiimote. They've suffered because of poor developers (e.g. Red Steel; tell me this game would be better on a traditional console, and let me laugh), but not because of the Wiimote. Nintendo and Konami have proven that the Wiimote can be used with traditional action/adventures and with first-person shooters. It's not Nintendo's fault if developers were too short-sighted to see the Wii's true potential and chose to rush their games for launch instead of taking the year to year and a half to actually polish it up.

But when cows call the 360 last gen, the lemmings will start to cry and bash on the PS3 on how PS3 lost its exclusives.

I could careless who the winner is, I just care about what console is best for me at the current time. All I read in reviews of Wii games is that the wii mote isn't respone enough in many gameplay moments. And that alone to me is failure, because the other way was just as good without the gameplay flaws.

[QUOTE="__poi"][QUOTE="Tristam22"][QUOTE="__poi"][QUOTE="mjarantilla"][QUOTE="__poi"][QUOTE="mjarantilla"]The thing is, Wii owners don't need to wait. :Pmjarantilla
Yay hyping a system based on mini games is fun! Only thing I've seen the Wii Mote do well so far is mini games. Even in TP they complained about the Wii Mote controls.

Oh so you are saying all Nintendo fans are casuals.. That's great... Not all games need explosions, but it would be nice to have some games that aren't mini games or have poor controls due to the wii mote.

Play Elebits and stop whining.

That game looks god awful, and it is kinda almost just a game built on a giant mini game.

You've never played it, then you have no authority to be judging it.

I never judged the game, just the game looks bad from all the reviews and gameplay movies I watched/read of it. I'm not going to get a game that looks horrible to me, and at which reviewers aren't very optimistic about.

I could careless who the winner is, I just care about what console is best for me at the current time. All I read in reviews of Wii games is that the wii mote isn't respone enough in many gameplay moments. And that alone to me is failure, because the other way was just as good without the gameplay flaws.

I could read just as many reviews of PS3 and Xbox 360 games complaining about controls. Again, that's developers, not the Wiimote. It's perfectly responsive in Elebits for pointing, in WiiSports for motion, in TP for everything, etc., so unless you're INTENTIONALLY looking at bad reviews, or you're just an outright hater.

Are you kidding me? Maybe not all, do, but the only Wii-bashing threads I see are made by Lemmings.

"the game looks bad" "looks horrible" THAT"S judging. And reviewers? IGN gave it 8.3. GamePro gave it 4 out of 5. It averages a solid 7.5 across the board. For a game that received no hype, that's respectable, especially when you consider that many reviewers marked down its graphics simply because of its style.

So if their pasts are so similar, is the Wii going to have a game like Gears after one year? No. Vyse_The_Daring
I'd say in less than a year. In fact, there are three games: Metroid Prime, SMG, and SSBB.

insteresting im the owner of a Wii and a 360, 360 had a much better launch easy as that more games that i was interested in. The wii's launch was very weak expecially if you take away Zelda TP which was just a port with upgraded controls to support the system, i loved the game but still.

And Madden, where the Wiimote, according to every major reviewer, "revitalized" the franchise for the first time in years. And TP, where it improved the gameplay in many areas despite the sword swings (and ONLY the sword-swings) being "tacked on." And Elebits, where first-person shooter mechanics are implemented with spot-on accuracy and responsiveness. Yeah, right. You just ain't looking.

I don't see many Lemmings bashing the sheep, but whatever. And for the record, the Wii's graphics are crappy for the most part. Especially if you are comparing them to the 360 or the PS3.. But that didn't stop me from buying one. It's a fun system. Sheep are too damn defensive. Your system is doing great, you should be able to take some criticism..

Please refresh my memory, cause last time I checked the graphics in Condemned, Kameo, PDZ, PGR3, and DOA4 proved that the 360 was next gen at the time!

Riiiiiight. Keep up with your denial. They did nothing to change Madden except implement Wiimote controls, and the game blossomed. Yeah, "any change" would've done the same thing. Sure.

Your system is doing great, you should be able to take some criticism..heretrix

The problem is it's not some criticism, it's fanboys saying the same thing over and over again. We understand the "graphix suk," and that it's getting half-assed ports... why do you have to tell the sheep every 3 seconds?

How many threads have we seen showing how comparable the Wii is to last-gen? Apparentaly they are forgetting that they themselves have gone thru that very same thing two years ago!

You call the Wii last gen, so was the Xbox 360.

Tony Hawk: American Wasteland

Gun

Perfect Dark Zero

Bomberman: Act Zero

Sonic the Hedgehog

There are many more, but due to space restrictions, I could not put them.

Stop being blind! Back in 2005, you kept begging for the other fanboys to wait, because it's only the first year! But now you are doing the same thing on everybody else!

Did you ever think that maybe the Wii (and maybe even the PS3) could get great stuff just like the 360 did?
