cows tried to use gamerankings for ages but lemmings always said no only gamespot, even myself use to think it made sense, then I realised there is to many no name websites and mags on there, so because of the high profile forum/site we post on Gamespot scores should only count at the end of the day, it's just funny how for such a long time lemmings rejected the idea until mgs4 come out then all of a sudden gamerankings FTW and it's pathetic[QUOTE="beast667"]

I say everyone should just stop being fanboys for a minute and realize that using metacritic or gamerankings is the only logical choice. As to the "two many no name websites" aregument well I say their opinions are just as valid as gamespots and 99% of the time they are in the same ballpark.

Do we seriously need another thread like this? Ok so a few lems are pathetic, making countless threads pointing it out is just as pathetic.

There is this guy I work with and no matter what it is it's more important for him for you to like whatever movie or tv show he's droning on about than if he likes it.

He throws in lots of "OMG!!" and "didja see the part where??"

The whole MGS thing here reminds me of that.

If you like something just like it, why do I or your friends or Gamespot have to justify your opinions on things?

it's not though, only high profile sites and mags should count, but there is to many fatboys in there mums basement making websites and if we are going to use there scores which can be in game rankings then we may as well use user scores....... you have to weed out the unknown websites and mags, and then also you have the problem of zelda best scoring game on gamerankings with only like 30-40 reviews??? now there are 2-3 times that amount, so how does a game that is better than zelda that a chance at beating it when they have to face 70 plus more reviews

it just cant be done so really gamespot rules all on this forum at the end of the day as it should and fanboys just need to shut up about scores

Well not last gen, Before MGS 4 was reviewed the cows were calling to use Gamerankings, because Gamespot is bias agaisnt the PS3. Now that they gave the PS3 an AAAAE game they love Gamespot, that will change if Gamespot flops an up coming PS3 exclusive.

Use Metacritic then. They weight the reviews based on the prominince of the reviewer. They also screen publications instead of accdepting every single one submitted. Best of both worlds. In any case even a straight average is much better then just gamespot.
