Lately I've been seeing lemmings say that it is laughable or that you are a fanboy if you think the 360 is a mainly a shooter's console which, IMO, I think it is. And all I can ask you is what's so laughable or fanboyish about it? I do agree with you that the 360 has SOME diversity, but seriously look what sells the most and what gets the most hype from the majority/core 360 owners. I'll give ya a little hint: Gears of War, Call of Duty 2 and 3, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, F.E.A.R., Prey, Far Cry, Graw, Perfect Dark Zero, and just recently Lost Planet, Crackdown, and most likely soon to be Halo 3, Bioshock, Haze, Unreal Tournament 2007, Graw 2, The Darkness, and Shadowrun while plenty of good games that are not shooters get left in the dust like Viva Pinata and Kameo. You can even look at XBOX Live and see that the majority of games being played on it are shooters.
Now I'm not saying every every game that is not a shooter doesn't sell well because a few examples of where they do are DOA 4, Dead Rising, Saints Row, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, and whatever sports and racing games you want to throw into the mix, but 360 owners clearly need to support other genres more if they really want a huge variety of games to come to their console instead of just more and more shooters. And by this, you can clearly see why the 360 has a shooter image and is called a shooter console.
To be honest, I am personally more hyped for Trusty Bell, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Banjo Kazooie Threeie, Fable 2, and Assassin's Creed than any of the shooters I named above. And don't bring up about how this could also apply for Nintendo since only kiddy games sell on their console, because the ACTUAL kiddy games yall talk about such as Barnyard, The Ant Bully, and Happy Feet aren't selling well on the wii. It's the games that lemmings and cows like to call kiddy, even though they aren't, such as Zelda, Trauma Center, Sonic and the Secret Rings that are selling. Of course there are a few exceptions to this. I'm sorry it was long cause I know yall don't like to read that much.
