since you have to buy a new xbox every year and a half how is x360 cheaper than a gaming pc. $400 + $480 = a very nice pc and then there is the $20 extra for x360 games over pc games which is $1000 over 5 years extra you will spend.

to have a solid framerate like 360 or ps3 u need to get the best gear available, wich means buy diffrent lets say each 4 or 7 months, so yes its more expensiveKaosedso thats why my year old system can run every game maxed perfect?
I forgot you HAVE to buy it right? i mean yea. I can play any 360 game for only $300 with top of the line graphics. ahh, gotta love it, go cry some more, your age is showingDoctorBunnyI don't have to buy pc upgrade like you console fans say every 6 months a card from before the 360 came out can still run every game better than x360

wow since when did hermits stoop down to console fan boy levels. I'm surprise you didn't add the cost of batteries for the controller to the equation.
From the looks of you sig I'm guessing you spend more than $400 on your pc every 1.5 years.
The only argument you can make is PC games being cheaper, but i wait for console games to come down in price anyway. In the end you really can't compare them because there are genres on both platforms that you can't play on the other and a PC can do more than just play games.

It is, but it's cost can easily be marginalised through informed shopping for components. What gets my goat is console fanboys demanding and absolute standard of maximum from PC gaming, sticking in esoteric sound cards and ridiculously big HDDs to inflate the price, coming to a quote for a multiple thousand dollar rigs, then not conforming to these standards themselves of maximum themselves.Yes, you can get a Core 360 for $300, but it's got no HDD, no HDTV, no XBL, one wired controller, etc. It is in no way the same level preached from a $1000+ PC.

That's actually $1200, and for that, I can get a PC which will last at least 3 years with high quality visuals. But I understand your point, and it is essentially a correct one.

A HDTV is an extremely niche product not owned by the majority of households, does not sell more than SDTV CRTs and is not necessary to watch TV. It still however, allows you to watch TV, it's just a lot more expensive, and not too many people have them. A system with a Quad Core and an 8800GT is an extremely niche product not owned by the majority of households, does not sell more than crappy Dell systems and is not vital to have a working PC for the internet and MS word. I have my 51" plasma for just games and movies. I don't watch anything for TV apart from heroes.
So my tv purchase counts towards my gaming I would say.
Plus I use my PC for work, multimedia, games...and all sorts of other functions. It's cost for performance ratio slaughters console gaming. Especially with the rising cost of consoles. A PC does so much more than a console, I gladly pay nearly twice the cost every generation for a PC that outperform in strides.
To make any console worth it's purchase... expect to spend $100 more on top of it's original price for controllers and other peripherals.
Either way, PC gaming is not horrendously expensive compared to console gaming. The fact of the matter is the same types of purchases must be made for both, for nearly the same amount in cost.
