[QUOTE="Danm_999"][QUOTE="Archx1"]Pc gaming cost more then consoles why do hermits debate this . imprezawrx500

Because some console fanboys say you need to spend $3000 on a PC, and only $300 on a 360 for comparable experiences, which just isn't true.

And we have pc fanboys saying they can spend 500 dollars to get a compareable experince and thats simply not true.

Where are they saying that?

Scroll up Imprenzwa has said it reptedly throughout his post.

what you console fans are forgeting is the 360 came out a year and a half ago and many graphic card price drops have happend since then. in xmas 2005 you were looking at a 6800 to get peformance similar to x360 but now performance better than x360 can be had in a 7900gs for $170

LMAO so now a 6800 is simlar to a 360 ? Seriously dude you are a joke you do not own any console are you wouldnt even be debating. Fact is the 360 is holding up with TOP of the line cards today on most games worse on some and better on others.

See, there's that technicality again. Gears of War is holding up, not the 360.

SC.DA, G.R.A.W, Kameo, RS.Vegas are all holding up as well so you really have no case.

wow 3 of those game areon pc and 2 look exactly the same and gs said the pc verison of r6v looks better as well as saying the pc version of graw has the best graphics and largest environments.

No they didnt say the pc version looked better in G.R.A.W buildings have more detail were there exact words meaning larger more areas in each building.  But visually the 360 version looked better hence the reason why it got nominated in the overall visual awards and the pc version didnt that pretty much says it all right there the 360 version looked superior .

so you say graphics is all about how undetailed and smooth you can make a building? more detail = better graphics what don't you get about that? the 'best' tag next the the 360 doesn't mean the graphics are better and whats with them saying the pc version has the most expancive and impressive single player? until you can tell me why pc oblivion looks best you fail to prove the 360's so call hughly powerful graphic card

The 360 version got nominated in best visuals in the Overall awards the pc version didnt why is this so hard for you to comprehend.  All the editors got together and chose which looked better visually and hte 360 won getover it and move on. And how did I fail to see the pc version of Oblvion looks best. It does granted you ahve the texture mods. Regardless you fail to see gears destroys anything on the pc right now eventhough every profesional review sight agrees with me.

With the update Oblvion looks about equal to the 360 verison on a high end rig. It loads faster and with texture mods it looks better but default max settings look about equal to the 360 verison with the texture patch . And Betheda is primarily a pc dev. the texture packs are not anything that couldnt be done on a console they werent even made by the devs and as far as I know Oblvion doesnt even support texture streaming which is a must to acheive those kinds of textures on 512megs of Ram.( thats how GeoW did it.Archx1

And your basis for speculating this is? Did you read this somewhere, or are you guessing. I hope it's the former.

And honestly neither subcom or Stalker are that impressive from the start. Stalker basically looks as good as HL2 maybe slightly better to say a game like Kameo looks outdated by it is ridiculous.Archx1

As I said, the environments in STALKER are great. And Kameo is beginning to look dated. I said I was necessarily comparing the two since it's bad to do that across two genres.

And Gears of War doesnt compare to pc visuals it surpasses them clearly that is a fact at least for now and im sure it will be beaten by many games on all platforms. Hell I can name at least one title on the PS3, 360 and PC coming out this year that beat Gears of War visuals but my point is DX10 is suppsoe to look signficantly better and right now it dosnt.Archx1

Of course Directx 10 doesn't, it's only just come out! We haven't even see the first generation of Dx10 games realised yet!

Crysis looks great it also has a 21 million dollar budget and one of the most talented visual teams in the indsutry making it. Many people think Crysis will be the begining of DX10 fact is that will probably be the best looking pc game not only this year but next year as well( havent evne seen anything annoucned for pc that looks close other then Alan Wake and PO and there multiplat.) Hermits act like Crysis is the standard for DX10 fact is most people simply dont have the talent and resources to make a game look that good and if they think thats what hte average pc game is going to look like there going to be sorely disapoited.Archx1

Crytek have made one game before Crysis, so it's hardly suitable to call them the most talented or resource wealthy developers in PC gaming!

As for the rest of your point, no I don't know what's going to look better than Crysis in the future, since that's too far down the pipeline. What I do know is, 2007 will be the year the PC begins to surpass console visuals once again, and stays there.

Because the 360 version and PC versions are different games on different systems, made by different developers and different engines.

Also, the best graphical achievement is not necessarily the best looking looking games available at the moment, simply the best RELATIVE TO THEIR PLATFORM.

How do you think a PSP game got nomiated otherwise? It certainly can't hold a candle to Gears of War or Company of Heroes. GRAW on 360 was nominated because when it was released, it was very impressive FOR ITS CONSOLE.

When the PC version was released, it had a lot more to compete with, and thus wasn't nearly as impressive technically.

And the PC version of Oblivion does look better than the 360 (albeit with a good PC). Even GameSpot have said this, go check out their 360 vs. PC Oblivion comparison thread.

With one game? Nonsense. It was the 360 version of G.R.A.W nominated for best visuals in the overall category here at gamespot not the pc version .( and yes it did look better although it was smaller) . Then there were other beautiful titles such as Kameo and SC.DA which were outstanding looking games and looked better then most games on pc. So really to say im getting a top of the line experince with one game is simply not true. I suggest you get more gamerpoints on Xbox live and enjoy more games. As for the rule well its already differnt this time around. Because the 360 actually started out behind and end up looking better as time went on. It went from barely running Quake 4 to running Gears of War withouht a hitch. Will pc gaming eventually look signifcantly better? Of course and by that time the next consoles will arleady be on the horizion. My point is console gamers are getting more bang for there buck this time around then ever. I look at the titles coming out for both PS3, 360 and PC next year and from a visual standpoint(Other then Crysis) consoles clearly have the overall edge.

Archx1

Err, PC games are going to begin looking noticeably better with Directx 10, not by the horizon of the next generation. Crysis is only an example of the first generation of Dx10 games (well, actually I think Sup Com and Company of Heroes have Dx10). I don't know why you think late 2005 hardware is going to be able to consistenty compete with modern PC hardware much longer. Optimisation only takes you so far.

But as for your other points, I really don't think their valid. GRAW isn't a good example since it's not a direct port. The PC and 360 version had different developers, they even had a different engine!

Oblivion looks better on the PC than the 360 (and that is without the texture packs that just take the PC totally out of console reach) and while Kameo and Splinter Cell look good, thier beginning to look dated against games like Sup Com and STALKER (not the most perfect genre comparisons I know, plus I think STALKERS character models are average, but its environments are fantastic).

Gears of War is the only console game that really competes with PC visuals, and thats because it's a stunning game. But it won't always be the best looking game, and this year and next looks to conform to the typical console cycle rule.

With the update Oblvion looks about equal to the 360 verison on a high end rig.  It loads faster and with texture mods it looks better but default max settings look about equal to the 360 verison with the texture patch .  And Betheda is primarily a pc dev.  the texture packs are not anything that couldnt be done on a console they werent even made by the devs and as far as I know Oblvion doesnt even support texture streaming which is a must to acheive those kinds of textures on 512megs of Ram.( thats how GeoW did it.

Anyways its getting late have to go to bed nice talking to you.

the fact is a higend pc leave the 360 in the dust in oblivion 8800gtx 2500x2000 30fps everythin maxed out which x360 can't even mangae that at half the resolution, stalker has amazing environment graphics and they are huge unlike geow and how come farcry from 2004 has better physics than geow?

I like PC because when you build a PC you aren't limited to the hardware manufactured by the game company. Alot of people with consoles think that Sony and MS is giving you a choice with their bundles and packages but the reality is you are just getting a different flavor of the same thing. PC might be expensive to the kids that live with mom and dad but to us hard-working folk, building a PC is half the fun. I like the fact that I know everything about every single part that I put into my PC from my motherboard to my RAM. I think building a PC is more of an art form than just putting together parts.

This is the most retarded argument ever....

How can a $1000 - $1500  PC cost less than a $250 - $480 - $600 console ?  You people don't know how to do simple addition   The school systems have been failing longer than I thought

I've been meaning to photograph my machine but haven't gotten around to it. I say PC building is an artform because you have complete control. It's your machine and you can do what you want with it. My custom PC is running an Intel C2Duo, a Nvidia 7900Gs video card and 80GB HDD with 2 GB of RAM. The artistic part of it is when I turn my PC on, every single LED on my case is a beautiful ocean blue. Also, I have blue cooling fans to match (2 blue LED 80mm and 2 120mm LED fans), a blue backlit keyboard, and a blue LED mouse. State of the art (pun intended).

These threads are always speculative thus not factual. Somepeople will spend a lot on their 360 or PC, others won't.

omfg you create this topic like once i week no one gives a fuk ok????Shadow_Elite192
It looks like many people do and if you and your consoles fans stop making threads like pc gaming is expencive and its cost $2000 and you have to upgrade every 6 months then I wont make these every few weeks and the fact is m$ has just made console gaming more expencive than it already was, whats the point of a console if they release new ones every so often with loads of new features?

yes I know, people complain about x360 being nosie yet with pcs you can do something about the noise if you don't like it you can make it quiter with aftermarket parts. led makes systems look awesoem
