On topic, every company milks their consumer. Look at Activision with the yearly COD release or EA with the Madden games. Even Ubisoft with yearly Assassin's Creed games. It could be seen as milkage, but I don't really care. If playing a new Halo every year after year keeps 360 owners happy then that's all that matters.

I just hope the new Halo has a good campaign, something that bungie decided to sh!t all over and just focus on MP.

Which IMO got boring after awhile the game playfeels dated compared to other shooters out there like Killzone (but KZ makes just about every other shooter feel dated).

So all in all, what I got from this is that we've seen 5 different Halo games since 2008, but let's be real because one of them was a RTS game so 4 shooters is fine IMO, but I can see how *some* people might consider it milking.

Then you like to call out on franchises that have been been on 2-3 platforms (PSP/PSV/PS3) and for what reason? GOW, Uncharted, LBP and Resistance are the current core Playstation franchises. Why shouldn't they bring them along with other exclusives? They're are *mostly* good-decent games and help sell the consoles. HOW is making GOW for the PS2, PSP and PS3 milking? The same can be said about Motorstorm (PS3/PSP/PSV)?

And why do you even mention the re-releases/"remakes" (GOW/Halo)? They're just easy ports and it's not as if Sony suddenly stopped making new franchises/exclusives because of the re-releases - 2012/2013 will feature new games such as Battle Royale, The Last of Us, Beyond and Ni Nu Kuni and new games from current franchises such as Twisted Metal, Starhawk, Sly and GOW - none of those have seen frequent releases (TW and Sly being released for the first time on the PS3) so I don't really see the problem in bolstering an lineup that already features exclusives with a couple of "remakes".

Let me ask you - if Sony allowed BC for the PS3, would it have been considered "milking" if they re-released the GOW games (original PS2 games) and bundled them with GOW3, back when it released? Would it also be considered "milking" if they did the same just + GOW3 when GOW:A releases?

Oh and one last thing - *some* people will call MS out for milking their franchises (I don't necessarily agree, but I see their points), but in reality I think most of the complains are based on how MS is more or less just releasing games from the same franchise over and over - Halo, Gears, Fable and Forza. I'll be honest here, I cannot remember when the last time was MS released an original retail game that wasn't tailored for Kinect. I just listed 3-4 relatively huge and original exclusives + 2 games (TM/Sly) that haven't seen a release since last gen, that'll be released for the PS3 in 2012-2013.

The need for this thread is all in all f1cking useless, beause not only doesn't MS "milk" their games (they just rotate between their core franchises), but neither does Sony, but hey - keep on with your "cows gonna cow" BS if that makes you feel better. Feel free to come up with something remotely sensible that doesn't invovle "cow" and can actually be considered reasonable.

My response in red. One thing I will add is that Nintendo doesnt seem to have any problem creating new franchises specific to the 3DS/DS, yet Sony relies on dumbed down ports/rehashes of its core franchises. The fact that they are on seperate platforms doesnt change the fact that they are the textbook definition of a rehash or a "cash in". Why else would Sony put their D-teams making games for those franchises?

1) Recruiting PSP and Vita games is weak. Its a different platform. If MS had a handheld, dont even try to tell me we wouldnt have seen as much Halo, Gears, and Forza as they could pack on it. 2) None of the Sony franchises have more than 3 entries on PS3, while ALL the major MS franchises have at least 4 on 360. 3) Sony doesnt stop there, but continues to pump out new IPs while MS talks about Kinect and COD and then yet another entry in the Halo/Forza/Fable/Gears cycle.-ArchAngeL-777-
