The one that matters to me...exclusives. Yes, I know PC has its exclusives, too. But outside of a handful of them, I really am just not that interested. Most of what you say is true, but if I can't get a Zelda game from the steambox...sorry.

Quite a few people, really.

There's no point in the steambox. It offers nothing that I don't already have on my currently existing PC.

I personally don't believe its going to compete with consoles like we thought it would with extra exclusives etc. Like Gabe said, "We're aiming to beat Apple to the living room".

exclusives, and likely price. Will it have the functionality of a pc or just have steam only? And pc gaming is intimidating to a lot of people.

I'm interested in Steambox, but that depends on how long, as a gaming PC/console combo it will last me as compared to: -An gaming laptop (desktop is out of the question for me), which I can buy a decently powerful one that will last me many years -The Wii U, for the tablet controller to stream games to it

I don't see choice of play as a bonus since if you're playing a shooter your only choice is KB/M or you'll get trashed.

The rest sounds nice though.

Not sure about the WiiU. But, I'll take the PS4 and 720 over a Steambox. The hardware in that tiny thing sounds crappy to me.

Also it would need up-gradable parts, as well. And in some cases, permanent Online. Which will be a deal breaker for some, like me.

Steambox will bomb. Only PC-gamers love and know what Steam is. And the Steambox does nothing my PC isn't allready doing. And since Valve is all about open platforms it never will either. So the Steam fans don't need it and the console fans don't want it = Mega fail!

If the Steam Box is going to have Linux it's game selection will be far too limited. Free games will probably only be Valve games. A good amount of Mods won't work as they're designed for the Windows version. And exclusives will be mostly either games that work well enough on even crappy PCs or very rare. If it goes Windows it'll be too expensive for a console and people might as well buy a PC. I absolutely do not understand who the Steam Box is for. :/

The advantage the PS4 has over the Steambox is that I already have a PC that does everything the Steambox does plus more. So the PS4 gives me exclusives and a central hub for my family to play games and watch movies. I would consider buying a Steambox if they allowed me to play on my steam account on my PC while my kids play on my Steam account on the Steambox at the same time, but I don't see that happening, so no sell.

You're acting like there is some extreme difference in quality in between those two. Also, none of the Half-Life games are PC exclusive.

The last good Zelda game was over 10 years ago. And Nintendo can't be arsed with the series anymore. You can't claim superiority of a series when its had one new game which scored 7.5 in over a decade.
