Yeah, this generation has fantastic games that are unforgettable. The obvious downside of this generation is all the ridiculous DLCs, casualised games and gimmicks that almost brought the industry to a halt such as Kinect and Wii.

My worries about next generation is mobile and tablet gaming takeover. That is going to cause a lot of damage and the industry would just crawl to death. :(

And If I'm going to remember this gen for anything, it's going to be the increase in games with art style and aesthetics as a selling point. Dark Souls would be my fav this gen but it doesn't stand out as much, it's easily comparable to older gen games, so it doesn't innovate unless you consider bringing back old ideas innovation.

I can't wait to see what wonders they pull off with Ground Zero.

MGS4 was so beautiful, way ahead of its time. Sadly, I played it without playing MGS 1, 2, or 3. I still need to get that collection :P.

I'm still playing that, I managed to snag it during the Origin $20 off promotion.

The game is very fluid and it looks amazing, I've been waiting for a long while now for a Mirror's Edge 2.

They need to make it, it has to appear this E3. If they just fixed up some of the games issues, it would be so good!

Although, I can wait for a Mirror's Edge 2 next gen launch title :P.

There's plenty of candidates for sure. But, I'm partial to this. So, here:

Fallout 3 is one that comes to mine, its one of best RPGs of all time. Of course you can't forget about:
Deus Ex HR GOTY last year IMO, Halo Reach, ACII, Crysis 2 and I could just go on and on this has been a great Gen.

Uncharted 2 is the greatest game period

Mario Galaxy is great, Pokemon is garbage. There are hundreds of games released this gen, better than that Pokemon rehashed crap.

This is a good list actually, besides the lack of pokemon..

The bond games have been really good in this gen, i still play goldeneye on my wii daily.

But you fail to see the point, pokemon is a commercial and critical success, how could a game honestly be garbage if it's widely accepted like that?

So many great gaming experiences this gen but the ones that stick out the most would be

Wii

-The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and proving the worth of motion controls in gaming

-Super Mario Galaxy 2 for its unbelievable range of creativity and imagination

-Punch-out!! for incredibly intricate and detailed fights

-New Super Mario Bros. Wii for some of the best and clever level design in the franchise

PS3

-Red Dead Redemption for letting me live my fantasy of being a cowboy

-The Darksiders games for bringing together the best of great franchises and in many ways doing it better

-The Batman Arkham games for pretty much showing that both extremely high quality and extremely high amount of content and gameplay styIes are possible in a single gaming experience

-Super Street Fighter IV Arcade edition for being my go-to competitive multiplayer experience.

Uncharted 3 > Uncharted 2
