Let's Predict The First Party Launch Lineups For Wii U/PS4/Xbox 720

Since all three new systems are launching soon (where there is smoke, there is fire, and so many rumor leaks have to mean something), I thought it would be a good idea to predict what each of the first parties would have at the launch of their new system.

At the end of the post, I will also list some token third party games that I believe will be available on all of the systems at launch:

WII U

• Pikmin 3
• F-Zero U
• New Super Mario Bros Mii
• Wii Sports 3

XBOX 720/LOOP/INFINITY

• Forza Motorsport 5
• Perfect Dark 2
• Viva Pinata Kinect
• Kinect Sports Season 3

PLAYSTATION 4

• God of War 4
• Resistance 4
• Killzone 4
• Uncharted 4

Along with some token third party games that I believe will be on all three systems in their launch windows:

• Call of Duty: Iron Wolf
• Assassins Creed
• Madden 13
• FIFA 13
• The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
• Grand Theft Auto V
• Ninja Gaiden III

Interesting. Well the PS3 didn't carry a lot of new franchises. To be honest, with inFamous 2 done early this year I expect a new super hero esque game from Sucker Punch in the works for next gen, something new from Naughty Dog, and Killzone 4. None of these will be launch games. I don't think we'll be seeing as many sequels as you expect. We didn't get them this generation. Microsoft will have some weak first party games, their strength will be in the third party exclusives they pay for. They will have Gears 4 though. Nintendo, I have no expectations.

I won't say anything about MS or Nintendo, I expect one big thing from each (Gears 4 and a Mario probably) but Sony....

Insomniac did Ratchet and Clank last gen, not a launch title. Sucker Punch did Sly Cooper and Sly 4 was finally announced last year. Naughty Dog has never made a game from a previous system. Crash was sold, but Jak they had no excuse. It might be The Last of Us but Naughty Dog WILL NOT MAKE UNCHARTED 4. I'm willing to bet on that. If they do, it won't be on the PS4 though. Killzone 4 is possible though, Guirilla know nothing else. Insomniac is done with Resistance forever. I doubt Sony would seat another developer on it for launch since Resistance 3 was no blockbuster. Sony isn't going to launch with a bunch of sequels. Just like this gen, next gen will be all about the new. Then in 2015 and 2016 we'll whine about how everything is a sequel to something 2 or 3 years ago. Its the way of the voi- gaming.

His guesses for the 360 launch are probably spot on. Aside from Perfect Dark 2, it won't even get that.

Viva pinata is one of those few games that I could see working well with the Kinect without the experience being watered down.

I'll add Chase Mii to the mix, it'll be there as a pre installed software on the system. My reasoning is that the game recieved a strong positive reaction from journalists at E3.

looking at recent releases..I would say its unlikely that they will launch with a MUST have exclusive title..BUT here is how it SHOULD GO

NIN...Mario,Zelda,Mario Kart

MS....Halo,Gears,NFS

SONY...Twited Medal,KZ4,GOW

Launch with MUST have games...SELL millions of units for longer then just the 1st week..

It takes 3-5 years to make zelda games, with the old standards of N64-GC-Wii

Add the fact that WiiU will be the first true HD system of Nintendo, with 10x more demanding development and we are looking at 4-6 years wait for the next Zelda if not more

So, unless WiiU releases in 2015-2017, there is no chance for a new Zelda at launch

Because they already started developing the Wii U game. They had a whole year already because it took about a year for them to localize Skyward Sword.

Hopefully some new IPs.

Well I think for NIN would defintely be Pikmin there, but I miss the days of NES and SNES and N64 where a Mario platformer was a launch title. I think that would be a fantastic start imobabycakin
