360 is doing very well, although this year was pretty poor in terms of exclusives. ps3 keeps struggling and Wii and Ds keep destroying their rivals.

I thought that with the slim and the price-cut the Ps3 would do better, also cause the xbox 360 didn't have this great year in terms of exclusive titles, but this gen Sony has definitely lost its dominance in its by now ex-stronghold like Europe.

Nobody in the real world cares about exclusives. Only us gamers that care enough to post on a gaming forum even really think about it.

Wii Fit shouldn't be included in a games chart. It's not even a game, it's an exercise program.

true, it's not actually a game, but everyone here still judges it on the basis of it being a game, it's a very good exercise regime, i am ex army and even i was impressed at how it becomes addictive to exercise, i would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in tip top condition

I believe the PS3 is still 50 GBP more expensive than the 360 Elite in the UK, which probably still factors into the lower console sales and install base and consequently the software sales.

So the rolling eyes mean you're joking :? erm you do know that PS3 and 360 are pretty much neck-n-neck in Europe even though the 360 has like a year and a half to itself before the PS3 was released here(there in you're case) in Europe. Despite having such a long head start compared to America and Japan where PS3 was released first you would expect the 360 to double the sales of PS3, maybe? The fact is though 360 is doing better in the UK it's supplanted (as you say) by other Euro countries like France, Germany, Portugal. So yeah, definitely not the right way to use the rolly polly eyes

I don't see why anybody would be surprised by these software sales when the PS3's install base is only just over half of the 360's in the UK.

But that's kind of irrelevant when the PS3 is outselling the 360 in Europe as a whole which INCLUDES the UK.

A comparable example would be if the 360 beat the PS3 in the NPD this month and cows were to say "well the PS3 is winning in the state of Washington, and thats the state with the most sales in the US" (Just using an example, i have no idea which state sells what)

Does that really matter if it's losing in the US as a whole? No.

Well, when you see a game like Lego Batman beating Uncharted 2 in sales, and Lips being on the list while Ratchet & Clank is absent, it sort of begs you to point the finger towards the consumers.

EDIT: And glad you like my sig, BTW. :P

[QUOTE="delta3074"]no, it only equals the second largest gaming region on the planet, which means MS owns the two largest gaming regions on the planet http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/10/uk-game-industry-beats-japan-takes-second-place/delta3074

No.

can you prove the ps3 is outselling the 360 in europe? link or it didn't happen

Sure.

The only thing for the weekly figures besides the UK figures generally released are these two charts as far as I'm aware.

[QUOTE="nervmeister"][QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"] Sony punished them by introducing the PS3 at a ridiculously high price and took too long bringing out its big gun games. Why is it the consumers fault?delta3074
Well, when you see a game like Lego Batman beating Uncharted 2 in sales, and Lips being on the list while Ratchet & Clank is absent, it sort of begs you to point the finger towards the consumers.

is it so suprising that people bought the cheapest hardare and bought all there games for that hardware?

It's more about software than hardware, and I must say the overall software choices are disturbing, to say the least.

Assuming the sources stated are true then yes, I guess.

I found it here.

Someone also actually went to the trouble of counting pixels to work out YTDs for Jan-Sept....:?
