Only a handful of people probably rent games to get points, that does not count as milking at all.

I dont see how thats anyones fault but that persons if they go and waste money on games they dont like.  The system is for games you play and to compete/compair them with your friends.   As for XBL you can go back to the first XBL game ever and still play it if you want online, but if you try to go back to play MGS online or Socom you wont be able to because they close them down due to costs.

Who cares its a nice addition that makes games have a bit more value so I dont get why your bashing it, if you play Geowars it wouldnt be as fun without trying to get those achivements so it does add a lot to games.

Um, I use my achievements for personal gain, not to compete with others. They make me try and get more out of my game then I normally would and it feels good when I finally do something really hard that I wouldn't normally do.

Yup its strange, STATISTICS like in HAlo 3 & Battlefields is all fair and good, but an overall gamer score, is just as bad as BAttlefields, only it costs you.

I know what your saying, and the guy above, but its not that simple, I wouldnt care if the service was free xcept for the things you have to buy, pr of they allowed dedicated servers or LANS ..... I care more about the Quality of the servers and games online im playing, not what a silly peice of card says before the game, or buy overpriced objects, and pay for addons.

I for one disagree with you completely. I understand that there are hardcore gamer score nerds hell-bent on amassing the largest number possible. But for your average gamer, like me, achievements do provide added incentives to pick up a title again and try to complete another task. My wife's enjoyment of Hexic increased by months due to her obsession with getting the Grand Pearl Pooh-bah achievement and the Big Cheese of the High Seas achievement. I got quite a bit of satisfaction from scaling the Agency Tower and jumping to the water in Crackdown just to get the Base Jumper and High flier achievements. My point is, achievements are good. Don't hate, appreciate.

PC online is a mix between XBL and PSN.

For PS online you get a free online and a dedicated server BUT if you really like a game and want to go back to it in a year or two or keep playing it for over a few years you wont be able to because that game company will eventually shut that server down due to costs.  

For 360 you pay 50 a year but no matter how old the game is you can still go back and play it, even the first xbl game you can go back and play it right now where you cant on PSN.

For PC you got online but you can play online like XBL/PSN and you can buy your own servers for your games like in BF2 and stuff. 

Yes it does have all of those things, it doesn't mean it's the best, it means you think it's the best.

Listen 360 fanboys, they are just mad because the PS3 is the lowest selling system, it has no good exclusive titles any more because the 360 stole them all (Assains Creed, GTA 4) and they are also mad because they have a crummy online system but that shouldn't matter because they have no good games to play anyways, except Resistance which is decent. If you really think youve accomplished something, you wouldnt need a game to tell you so. Thats where actual game unlockables have always came in. Oops, I forgot those unlockbles that should have been in the game for free are only available in the marketplace for a real price.

A good deal of the tasks are just stupid, such as in Madden and Bullet Witch. Only a fool would leave their 360 on for 24 Hours for some worthless points.
