According to this article LG won a court order allowing it to seize new PlayStation 3s throughout the Netherlands. This order includes the ability to seize PS3s already in Dutch homes.

This is just wrong, what do we as consumers ever did to LG? Im not dutch or living in the Netherlands, but if this is allowed to happen, then it may aswell happen elsewhere, what do you think?

I wonder if LG can bring over some thugs to beat the family occupying the house into submission with metal pipes.

I would fight them tooth and nail, as I MUST play Uncharted 3! :P...and Mortal Kombat, The Last Guardian and more lol. Doesn't matter for me though as I am not there.

Not to mention it violates the rights of the consumer, LG would at least be obliged to pay the PS3 plus compensation, IMO they'd be better off dropping the demand

ROFL I'd love to see them try and trespass private owners' homes just to seize their PS3s for 10 days.

Whoever wrote that forgot to put his thinking cap on.

Now I'm not familiar with the Netherlands laws or legal system, but I can't imagine this being legal. Even if it is, LG is alienating themselves from a lot of potential electronic customers by doing this. Obviously just a scare tactic since it won't benefit them in any way besides forcing Sony's hand and making them pay up.

LG has the possibility of doing so, but it certainly doesn't mean she will. The only thing this does is ruin Sony's image, selling a product that could be taken from your hands, and make Sony lose even more money than what it already has with the PS3. Sucks for them.

Dutch gamers, I suggest you borrow a popular phrase from us Americans when the LG gestapo comes to your door:

From my cold, dead hands.

I'm calling BS on this. So instead of drug raids, police are going to be doing PS3 raids? Yeah right.

Edit: Appears I was wrong. Wow. That's all I can say.

since it only applies to "new" PS3s, I'm sure there's something lost during the translation.

I doubt this is true.
Consumers have less and less rights. But that's all fine in SW.
I will happily give them my PS3. If they want anything else here i will give it too. Want my money? Here have it. My underwear? Super mister corporation. I mean, what can i do?

Between Sony getting the names of every single person that even just watched the videos and LG doing this they have both lost their minds and are taking away people's rights while they do it.

I doubt the LG part is true though I want to wait for better sources to confirm this. Still true about Sony trampling on rights though.

LG's just shot themselves in the foot if they think this is the way to go why not just man up and you and sony sit down at a table and sort this out and benefit everyone including your own image in the eyes of consumers and the customers themselves.

Altho if this is the EU were talking bout give MEP's enough money and they will do anything particularly useless organization i wish Britain wasnt a part of.

If it goes through they can try and take my PS3 but im within my rights to request a refund for the hardware and most likely the games.Day by day i loose faith in any form of current government in this goddamn world.VATS up to 20 percent and EU MEP's are claiming more expenses in a day than i make in a year part time its shockin.

I am really liking LG,go for it! make sony pay!Tessellation

only a fanboy would say something like this which is more than likely going to hurt everyone involved especially consumers if they get their way.Less choice on the market is a terrible thing to endorse unless you are being sarcastic but based on my memory of you i doubt this very much.
