Lionhead releases a single Fable III screen

I dunno what they are talking about in this article since me, I can already tell ya from that one screen shot that this will be the best Fable yet. :P

Anywho, just figured I pass this along for anyone interested.

I guess for some discussion purposes; I guessing this game to be the heavy hitter for Natal right outta the box and the determining factor of how well MS done making Natal, at least early on.....you?

Also, I'd like to know already what Rare is bringing to the Natal table.

The Story

Say one thing for Lionhead. Say it likes to keep us on a short leash with its teases. Not exactly giving us much to work with, the Microsoft thrall has released a single screenshot of upcoming life-changer Fable III.

There's really not a lot else we can say, but we thought you might be interested. For what it's worth, Fable III is looking like it might be good, but it's hard to judge that from just one screen. Let us be having some video, or at least more than a single picture at a time, please!

The game, designed with Project Natal in mind, is due out for release near the end of this year. Who is picking it up?

This game looks very interesting. Im not a big fan of the first 2 Fable games but ill keep an aye on this one ;)

Looks great, true but nowhere near as good as gears

Im not sure if its just a change in art but that looks signifcantly better than Fable 2.

I played fable 1 way back, got out of the guild and stopped playing because i hated it. So i skipped fable 2. I think il give it another shot with fable 3 and if i like it work my way back ( i did play it at a time when i hated WRPGs which i love now).

I like the art style.

Not a fan of the Natal idea. I just keep hoping it will go away even though I know its not going to. I just hope one of my favorite series such as fable is plagued with a hole bunch of jumping around the room.

I found Fable 2 to be a bit disappointing, but I am sure I will be picking this one up on day one in hopes that it can recapture some of the magic that I felt in the first one. Yes, it was watered down RPG-wise, but what can I say, it was just a fun game. As long as this one does that for me, it's all good.

The game will allow you to create and actual living and breathing character so lifelike in his actions and abilities that RPGs will forever be ruined in the shadow of Fable 3.

But then the game will be exactly the same as Fable but they've added cats.

I would be more excited if they patched uno to allow for less afk time to be perfectly honest.

fable3 seemd like a pretty big improvment when compared to 2. (not graphically, although 3 does look a bit better than 2) The Gameplay mechanics seem a lot more intresting. I like the weapon morphing Idea, being a ruler, no power caps to charge attacks, and the touch mechanic all eem very intresting. and the mentioning of more kingdoms than albion is pretty cool. I would like to see where this is going because it sound promising, and peter seems pretty humble about it, meaning less of a chance of a let down.

i wonder how many false promises we will get for this game......also anyone remember when fable 2 screens were first shown that one guy kept saying graphics king because of the leaves?

I, unlike most others here including you it seems freakin took the time to count them and yes indeed, Fable 2 can be counted on to leave ya hangin.

Seriously though, I want LH to keep plugging away big time and doing so, I just freakin know that they will deliver a unforgettable, sweet as can be, Wrpg action adventure game that will top metacritics..

Fable 2 was a bit of a misfire, but I'm slightly more optimistic about Fable 3. A lot of sequels have been saved by introducing entirely new gameplay elements and building the game around that instead of reusing similar core gameplay from previous titles. My biggest problem with Fable 2 was that it was too much like the original, didn't really reward the player much for their actions (And the lack of Boss fights, which really sucked.). Maybe Fable 3 will rectify some of these issues. It's been a good gaming year so far so I don't see why that can't extend to Fable.

Looks exactly like Fable 2. Even the pirate outfit ... The same outfit pretty much anyone who completed the game had, since it was the best

Let's be honest, Fable was an action adventure title, with a slight RPG element (like the Legend of Zelda).

Now that the developers, Lionhead, have completely :

1. Removed that RPG element from Fable 3,
   
2. Designing Fable 3 for motion add accessory NATAL,
   
3. Using the Fable 2 engine

...this game will totally pwn.
