Looks exactly like Fable 2. Even the pirate outfit ... The same outfit pretty much anyone who completed the game had, since it was the best

-Snooze-

Judging a book by it's cover ? Sounds to me like the same.. Halo 3 looks like Halo 2 - hmm.. fine since for me and many, many others, Bunige topped big time all things that made Halo 2 the last gen AAAE game it is and when looked at from a gamers of gamers standpoint - if LH can do same or even close with Fable 3...

Oh, oh, oh.. soo much win !

Shall I start posting all the alien leaves on all the Fable 3 trees for proof..:P

Let's be honest, Fable was an action adventure title, with a slight RPG element (like the Legend of Zelda).

Now that the developers, Lionhead, have completely :

  1. Removed that RPG element from Fable 3,
  2. Designing Fable 3 for motion add accessory NATAL,
  3. Using the Fable 2 engine

...this game will totally pwn.

Well hell you da zing.. I meam the king but do share please all the RPG elements lost in Fable 3 that were present in the first 2.

I am just not as up on this Peter stuff as you me thinks.

Hopefully, people will stop using Gears2 to show off the 360 and start using Fable3.Gran-Delaysmo5
I really doubt it. Fable 2 wasn't a graphics showhorse by any means, and Fable 3 is being developed/released so soon after i wouldn't expect any major graphical upgrade - if anything at all.

I'm not very intrigued by this Fable. I mean, did you guys see the video for it? Wings? Do I want my character to sprout wings? Heck no! Man, that's one thing that bothers me about Molyneux and Lionhead sometimes; they think what they release is what people want! Instead, we get gimmicks to show off the shallowest good/evil system to have graced gaming. It is rather good looking, but Fable titles have that charm in visuals. Gameplay and design is what suffers with this wasted potential of a series.

They haven't given any specifics i dont think of exactly what they've dropped, but Moleneux announced that the game is an action adventure, and admitted that it more or less always was with the odd RPG element. Levelling up, for example has been a feature along with lines of stats for your various traits, but it all seems kind of pointless when you have real-time action combat like any action game. Plus, the original had armour and gear which would change your stats in various ways, however that was abandoned in Fable 2 in favour of just having clothes to change your appearance rather than heavy or light armour for a given combat purpose. My guess with Fable 3 is that they'll just scrap the whole stats thing altogether.

It's all bits and pieces we've been reading about in Fable 3 according to Peter M....but who knows what's going on. I got like 950 in Fable II, so I'll be checking this bad boy out.:P

Not a fan of the Natal idea. I just keep hoping it will go away even though I know its not going to. I just hope one of my favorite series such as fable is plagued with a hole bunch of jumping around the room.

MortalDecay
Lionhead said Fable III was developed with the controller in mind, first and foremost, then added some Natal functionality. It was in an article on Joystiq when the first screens were shown at X10. I'm too lazy to look for it, though.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'm not going to bother with it.

If its anything like any other Lionhead game I've bought it will have a couple of cool sandbox features that will be interesting for 10 minutes and then the rest of the game will be bland, short and/or poorly done. I feel like they spend too much time on gimmicky features and completely ignore the main elements of a video game. Black & White II and Fable were definitely guilty of this.

Why was Fable even called an RPG to began with? It has always played much more like an Action Adventure game, I was incredibly annoyed that the developers chose to refer to the original Fable as an RPG after playing it.

Looks great. Detailed characters, detailed environments, great lighting and it keeps the whole Fable look.

I would guess your one who also takes issue with the Mass effect series being called RPG.. correct ? That said, sure, the Fable series really is a action adventure when compared to old time traditioanal RPG's games and lacks a bit of that old school rpg complexity - a great series it remains and though like a few here, I liked Fable a bit better then Fable 2 for some reason :P -- Fable 3 is gonna rock, I have little doubt. 8)
