Dark Souls, Journey, Wind Waker, FF8, Red Dead Redemption, Motorstorm Pacific Rift :P , Uncharted 2, Torchlight 2 (there we go, pc exclusive :p), Civ 5 (and another one :o), that's all I can think of.

[QUOTE="Dj-Dampleaf"][QUOTE="MonsieurX"]*facepalm*MonsieurXAnother reason to vote for me for United Microsoft States. Another reason for you for being boring I entertain you daily. On days I am here. Because you post in my threads.
All of the Metal Gear Solid games first pop to mind. Infamous series had some good ones. God of War. Halo. Souls series. Bunch of others. To be honest...I bought pretty much nothing but gaming soundtracks this entire gen when purchasing music. Just bought the Starhawk soundtrack a few weeks ago.
Shadow of the colossus
To the moon
Dear esther
Dark Souls
The witcher 2
FF IX,X
Deus Ex HR
Skyrim
Portal 2
Batman Arkham City/Asylum

And you want our votes? pfff
To the Moon
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Civilization IV (if only for "Baba Yetu")
Final Fantasy X
Indeed. Even the KOTOR games, which don't use much of the John Williams themes at all, had excellent original soundtracks. I still love the Jedi theme from the second game. Very poignantly goes with the scene in question.pretty much any star wars game.

I can't recall a whole list off the top of my head, but the remade soundtrack for Black Mesa is amazing. Seriously, it's an emotional, deep, and moving work of musical art. I haven't been able to get it out of my head since I played the game. The song that starts up just as the marines drop into the lambda complex lobby, for the massive shootout right before starting surface tension... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. After finishing that part, I saved, and repeated the fight another half dozen times, just to hear that song again, while blowing sh!t up.

I still don;t know what THPS1 is. If it's not a game than what is it?haha. It's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
And I can't take that game's soundtrack seriously (as good as most of it is) because it claims to have Primus's "Jerrry was a Racecar Driver", but it doesn't even play the whole song. It just has like 2 riffs, from the instrumental section (no vocals) and repeats them a couple times.

I see your sig and underneath is the "More from GameSpot" caption where it says "Winning in Crysis 3 Without Firing a Single Bullet." Reminds me of the debate.Dang, I forgot about the music in that series. Great stuff.PannicAtackI played a couple hours of the game WAY back in 2005ish, and just listened to the OST the other day. It absolutely mops the floor with 3, ODST and Reach (those all being great as well). It is such a solid set of music with one of the last, truly memorable "themes" in gaming.

I got the London Philharmonic's "Greatest Video Game Music" CD, which includes "One Final Effort" from 3. I'm not the biggest fan of the franchise, having only played the original on the PC, but damn is that a great theme.
Also, mighty pleased that three people other than me have listed "To the Moon." That game's music is simple (lol two notes repeating), but gorgeous. I mean, seriously, just listen to "For River". And then it manages to take the two main themes and build on them in several of the other tracks. I'd post the ending piano theme, but... well, it'd be like spoiling the story.

THPS1 is a game?Dj-DampleafHow old are you. Age has nothing to do with it. Why the *** would I play a skateboarding game that much to even give a crap remembering it. I have played a few Tony Hawk games, and they are all terrible. Heck most of my people don't even play Skateboarding games. I did have a bit more fun with the Skate games thought. 1 and 2.
Dark Souls has the best soundtrack imo, the first time you go past the white light and get hit by the boss music it really evokes something.
To give a personal story, I was fighting my way to the final boss and ready to do what must be done. I transverse the white light to see this once powerful and majestic being who sacrificed himself to keep the age of fire going as a confused lowly hollow. Add on a piano section and I was almost in tears the entire fight.
