It's a slow burn kind of game. It will probably do well over the year worldwide...As for Japan, I really don't know...It's pretty much Nintendo/Monster Hunter world there..
I thought we stopped using vgchartz for reliable info. Anywho its not suprising about LBP, while it may be a good game for the PS3, its more of a niche title. The only problem is Sony wanted this game to have the "Mario" effect (globally admired, sales through the roof), but its a nice addition to the PS3 library.
At least the PS3 was able to sell about 3 times the number of copies GTA4 sold on the 360. Largely attributed to the larger install base, I'm sure. Good for PS3, though!
And, that indeed is a slow start for LBP. Maybe they're just not really that interested in it, though?

So LBP wasnt a game that would catch on with the Japanese, funny if it was Japanese and had bit more to do with them they would love. Sad how bad their gaming tastes are
GTAIV did very well, all GTAs have sold well there and this considering the userbase is doing extremely well. Same with 360 version, not too bad.
LBP hasnt even be released for a full week and had a botched launch with the Delay and confusion. I highly doubt these numbers are much of an idicator on anything.
japan is a bad market these days, no devs could make much of a profit unless it's monster hunter or final fantasy, the rest will be lucky to reach 150k
its not a market worth bothering about anymore, eu and us are the biggest fish in the gaming biz now, we left japan in the dust long ago, so im not sure why microsoft is trying so hard over there it's just not worth it
Japanese have the worst taste in games. I'm about to write them off. Didn't some dress up game come in first for sales last week. Too bad about LBP sales, maybe they will pick up though.
I had one of the best times I've had gaming in a long time last night playing online coop with some friends of mine. We laughed all night. I hope everyone gets the chance to play it sometime this gen. I guarantee it is going to eventually be remembered as one of the classics of this gen.
