TC, the Wii was an anomaly. It won because of it's gimmick and still struggled in a lot of major areas.
There's nothing for the competition to worry about with Nintendo. They could have the perfect hardware, but Nintendo are the problem. There is no way Nintendo will crush the competition.
The hardware isn't the problem. Nintendo could make the Wii U work, it's excuses. There's nothing wrong with the hardware. It's poor that they're blaming the hardware and not themselves.
MS are making their poor X1 hardware work for them. Sony did it when they had the weakest hardware.
Nintendo don't listen to their customers and what they want, still telling them the consumer what they can have, not what they want. They're too afraid to push online to the standards the consumer wants. Nintendo don't listen to developers on what from their hardware in the design phase. And Nintendo has poor relationships with 3rd party afterwards.
