Seriously guys, stop whining. Nintendo are doing very well and they deserve all the success that's coming to them. Alot of dumbasses are upset that they didnt make a visuals focused console like the 360/PS3 but those same dumbasses weren't too big on the Gamecube and it was practicaly the same as the XBox and PS2 hardware wise. besides, do we really need three consoles that are almost exactly the same?

Nintendo differentiated themselves from their competitors, they realised the unimportance of HD visuals in terms of appeal, they reached out to new people and that is the reason they are doing so well. It was they who saved the videogame industry from the videogame crash back in the 80's and with their amazing success it looks as if their days of benefititing the videogames industry are far from over.

as to those people criticisng the Wii's casual appeal i'd like you to cast your mind back to a little something called the DS. Once upon a time it was criticised by gamers and the gaming media alike. It's non games were seen as a joke and it was said to be the death of gaming. Fast forward to 2007 and we have ourselves the best handheld ever. Coming soon we have a Ninja Gaiden game, Disgea, Dragon Quest 9, a new bioware rpg, a new mistwalker RPG and a legend of Zelda game

if Sony taught us anything it is that support is dictated primarily by sales. We saw it with the PS1, we saw it with the PS2, we saw it with the DS and the likelihood is we will see it with the Wii. so suck it up fanboys, the likelihood is that come 2009 most (if not all) of you will own a Wii

i'm not even a big fan of the wii but i recognise the that its success is well deserved and that once support increases it'll be pretty much must have. some of the topics that have sprung up as a result of the recent NPDs are hilarious though

Problem with your little comparison there.

Handhelds can be casual, there's nothing wrong with that. On the go gaming is at it's core a casual field. It's supposed to be primarily for quick and fun games.

Bringing that style to a home console though makes for a s****y console.

the 'Hardcore' get Super Paper mario, Zelda, Scarface, manhunt, Godfather, etc - While the casuals can play Heatseeker, Cooking Mama, Madden 07, Tiger Woods. - And then, not to mention games that can be played by Anyone - Rayman Raving Rabbids, Mario Party 8, Mortal Kombat, etc.

If any console is struggle to deliver, its the PS3. It has 1 game for hardcore fans, and thats resistance. Now they got ninja Gaiden, and they have Oblivion.. which is nothing. One is a remake and the other is a Port with extras.

it's not even a question of being happy about it. The wii is a sales success. No-ons eprsonal feelings are going to do anything to change that. Accept it, recognise what it is doing right and why it is successful and move on. I can understand criticising the games library as there is a lot to criticise right now but creating 20 topics just because it owned the competition is just sad

anf the problem with your assertion is that EVERY SINGLE CONSOLE OR HANDHELD THAT HAS DOMINATED IN SALES HQS GONE ON TO GET EXCELLENT SUPPORT FROM DEVELOPERS. The assertion that the wii will be any different is just stupid at this early juncture

Just look Wii ads. Look at the lates Big Brain Academy ad. That's a pathetic excuse for a home console game. But they're pushing that as their focus. It's not good at all.

The way I see it there is a hell of a lot more attacking by the lems and cows (especially the cows) than bragging by sheep.

Something you sheep don´t seem to understand is that sales will give you third party support, and the games that come out of that will be more games just like the ones that are on the wii now, cause they are selling they are casual friendly, the wii is going to keep getting games that require an IQ of 12 to play, have "fun" with your motion sensing.

People get upset because they see casuals jumping in and changing the whole playing field. They get in have no idea what the hell is going on so they make compelte garbage like Red Steel and Wii Play million sellers. It just swings momentum and development away from consoles that many people feel deserve it more.
