LOL New Consoles Suck, Gamestop's Going Retro

Well I went into my local Gamestop yesterday and they've got signs posted everywhere telling customers that they are once again accepting systems and games like N-64, Original PlayStation, Sega Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox and more.

When I asked the store manager why their accepting these consoles and games again he said that the new consoles aren't exactly flying off the shelves, because customers have been complaining of network issues, game installs and hard drive space, in fact he said a lot of customers have been trading them in and going back to PS3 or 360.

I think it's hilarious, because I used to complain about those exact issues with X-1 and PS4 and it's obvious now that i'm not alone. Well i'm glad I hung on to my original PlayStation and PS2 and do a lot of IPAD gaming, because it doesn't sound like Sony or Microsoft are going to rectify these issues anytime soon.

Them selling retro consoles is old news, I don't believe your little story

They can sell the games, but your cause falls apart with recent sales numbers showing current gen ps4/X1 selling better than previous gen. But yea, I'm sure they are going to wipe off all those games boxes from gen 7/8 and put up retro games instead because they are going to sell better.

How exactly is it old news?, they haven't sold old consoles and games in their stores in years, maybe certain one's on their website but they haven't had them in stores in years, and now they will.

I have a PS4 and can confirm it sucks.

It makes sense. I kept the retro machines I wanted to keep so I'm not concerned about it. I gotta buy some of the new GameCube controllers so I have fresh replacements when my GameCube controllers give out.

Something I wish that the trinity would do is release retro controllers. I'd love to get some new PS2 and Saturn controllers from the source.

The reason gamestop are doing that is because they are losing clientele due to digital sales. Because the truth is that both the Xbone and PS4 are selling way more faster than the PS3 and X360 did in its best days.

Why would he do that? Unlike the current gen consoles, the Alpha can play pc games going back over 15 years with ease..

My thread was created on the basis of the Xbox One being poised for a massive sales increase due to game releases, limited edition consoles and holiday bundles, completely different.

more than being "complicated" is just the nature and struggle that PC gaming is. Having random games crash at startup is very common but the only way to fix it is by you diving into forum after forum and that's just one of the many realities herms don't want to face.

Retro games will always have the nostalgia audience, people who grew up with snes or whatever. The newer consumers will just download old stuff on the new systems. They have no attachment to cartridges or the genesis controllers. These stores aren't demanding shipments of thousands of PS1s a month.
