i just cant take it nomore, i have a ps3 and i never use it, im waitin for good games but i guess people are just waitin for updates, like printing pics? lol what?  why do i wanna print pics from my ps3, if i already have a computer, lol doesnt make sense man, and for casuals taht will b more espensive, ps3+ printer lol. Is juts sad o see people hypin this hsit when no games are out, we need games no pics to print, wake up people,  and who is gonna play PS1 games in a $600 console! lol u must b crazy.

 If you go to this link, it tells you the next firmware update for PS3 will turn it into a fully funtional time machine.

exactly, i didn't buy the ps3 to have some ghetto computer -- i mean seriously, who owns a printer / would buy one just to use for the ps3. i mean who would own a ps3 and no pc? just doesn't make sense to me.

U my friend do not own a PS3, because if u did, u wouldnt be writing useless threads like this talking about a system u invested in, so dont lie please, its quite easy to see that u are angry that the ps3 had such a firmware update.

 My ps3 just sit there waitin for a blu ray movie or motorstor to play sometimes, its a waiste for rigth now, it was a waste of money to me , i got it at gamestop so they dont give money back for it, i guess i have to suck it up.

I mean, its a nice console but it has to much things that i really dont need, i just want a console to play games when im bored and not print pictures, lol,  i cant see how casual will get a ps3, i mean, is a complicated machine, i cant piture a casual try to update the ps3, casuals are  people who go for easy stuff and ps3 is to much complicated tahn p2 was, u have to much options and stuff that casuals will get lost in it.

that there are websites (including this) that came out early on and had the balls to say that the ps3 CAN NOT and WILL NEVER be able to upscale DVDs and PS/PS2 games without a hardware update

Well you do have a point. I'd rather print my pics from the PC. These tid bit add-ons are not that impressive

The FW update added "options", which isn't a bad thing, sure the 360 was able to upscale games from the start, but at least SONY is making an attempt to make the PS3 better than what it was/is.Nagidar

Call me crazy but...I think the PS3 does a much better job at not only with the games, but with the upscaling dvd. I've looked between the 360 and PS3, and PS3 looks a whole lot better. And Blu Ray movies in 720p? Godly.

Well you do have a point. I'd rather print my pics from the PC. These tid bit add-ons are not that impressive

 able to use memory card adaptor 2 ways ( take the data off it and put saves on it )

  As for the movie thing, there really isn't a difference (may be slight, but nothing significant) between BD and HD-DVD besides storage capacity, they both transfer HD data at the same rate. Its the connection type that will determine the picture quality.

 EDIT: In case you misunderstand me, the quality of the player will also determine the picture quality, just thought I'd throw that in, I know it obvious, just didn't want you to think the connection was the ONLY determining factor for picture quality.

Gotcha. Things I learn in the middle of the night. But it's just me. I see bigger differences with the PS3 in terms of the dvd playback then my 360. Component vs HDMI? I'm not sure what the full range hdmi means, but with that option set to full, it did make a huge difference in my picture quality. Games and movies. -loves her 360 and PS3 more and more every week-

If you have a 1080p TV and HDMI congratz if I had that stuff I would uses it too... I have a 720p TV it has a DVI jack...I have two video cards a x1900xtx then a decent Nvidia 128MB PCI(not express regular) card.I have two monitors one connected to the ATI one to the Nvidia my TV too my ATI... most of the time I just what DVD thru my computer to my TV...HDMI upscaling and all that may look better but I am content with what I got...

yeah I know 480 + 600 = 1080...they have to add 600 lines so its bound to look a little washed out but if I had a 1080p HDTV I would be glad for the upscale...standard res on anything over 32"  looks horrid

You knwo whats so funny about all of this, all of you lemmings and some cows missed the biggest part of the update.  GS nicely threw it out there in the last sentence of the article.
