lol!! Intel Quat core processor owns it! lol whta a shame!! just 4 minths in the market and it got owned by a processor taht came out 1 month ago! lol PabbssPS3
The Wii has been outdated for 4 years, and the X360 has been outdated for a year, so I don't see your point.

The cell and RSX were also made last year, so they would've been outdated before the PS3 release
How do you know the quad core owns it? Are you just assuming or is there some proof/benchmarks...munu9
Look at his grammar, does it look like he has any advanced knowledge about processor performance?
lol!! Intel Quat core processor owns it! lol whta a shame!! just 4 minths in the market and it got owned by a processor taht came out 1 month ago! lol PabbssPS3You must not know anything about computeing power and how processors work. Cell and Quad Core 2 duos are 2 completely different processors you cant compare the 2 show me benchmarks on testing.

Intedl DUO core has 4 cores!!!!
Intel QUad core has 8 cores!!! lol! pleaser man!!! lol! just the pentium cost more than the PS3 all together with 2 games! lol  The number says everything!
besides, as usual, PCs are more powerful. CPUs in consoles are just stripped down versions of what they are supposed to berenger6002with the Cell its a whole new design not a stripped down version btw this is new tech Cell is different from pc processors so what you are claiming is all false and incorrect.
lol!! Intel Quat core processor owns it! lol whta a shame!! just 4 minths in the market and it got owned by a processor taht came out 1 month ago! lol PabbssPS3In terms of Raw processing power, Intel CPUs do not match the 360 or the PS3 CPU. Official IBM figures Xenon: 77GFlops Cell: 233GFlops Even the best Duo core cannot get half of 77Gflops, so do not expect the Quad core to even reach 77GFlops in raw fp power. As we all should know, Direct X and OpenGl relies a lot on fp calcs, which is probably why M$ and $ony went the in-order execution path.

self owned. the cell has 8 cores against intel's 4 cores.
Â
EDIT: and the cell has a memory pool for every SPU (256k of memory) and can go up to 4GHz.Â

lol!! Intel Quat core processor owns it! lol whta a shame!! just 4 minths in the market and it got owned by a processor taht came out 1 month ago! lol PabbssPS3First of all, learn how to spell! Second, This makes no sense seeing that IBM already stated that the next cell will surpass Intel from what they already came up with. Not to mention if you know the government, then you would know they want the cell's technology more then the Intel because of they applications and number crunching it can do! This alone they say dominates the Intel chip. So I'd say if the government wants this more then I would say I'd go with their choice, seeing they can hit you in the head with a bee-bee from a million miles away with the technology they use now.Â
The new machine will combine 16,000 "Cell" processors, the very same chips that will power the PlayStation 3, with 16,000 more standard processors. The completed machine will pack in a grand total of 32,000 processors.
IBM has said that the "Roadrunner" supercomputer will be capable of "petaflop speeds" -- 1,000 trillion floating point operations (or calculations) per second. The closest runner-up supercomputer is the BlueGene/L, which can theoretically handle between 280.6 and 367 teraflops -- roughly 30% of the raw computational ability of the Cell-powered "Roadrunner."
Interestingly, despite being much weaker than Roadrunner, the BlueGene/L packs in 131,072 CPUs -- roughly five times as many processors. The Roadrunner is more powerful with fewer chips because it harnesses the Cell CPU's ability to multitask complex calculations across the 8 satellite processing units -- effectively an eight-core CPU.

it's a 1 core processor. but it's paralel process based. it works like if it had 8 processors, each one with great performance and efficiency. Also, it can run with 4 GHz clock speed. Can intel's Quad Core come close to that?

What does grammar have anything to do with it? I know some very talented people in CPE with very bad grammar and spelling, they don't make computer engineers take too many english courses, didn't you know?
