PS3 had a stupid banana for a controller, they never once showed it in use.

Why do developers show early shots? To keep interest in the product, and keep it in the minds of potential buyers. Furthermore, some people (like this board) like to keep up on this information.

At the end of the day, he's an engineer for the controller.

Whats wrong with the controller ? Looking at Civ V and Portal 2 it looked quite intuitive and seems to get the job done on fps and strategy games much easier than your normal controller ( though i cant imagine driving games will be particularly good on that controller )

Still more function for gaming than kinect.

I'm torn on the concept. It looks like it will be able to handle games that would be completely unplayable on regular pad. Not the other hand though, it doesn't look like it will handle them all that well.

Valve has already released pictures of the controller from many angles. It has lots of buttons. Why are you only now asking these questions when this was shown months ago ?

I don't like the look of it, but I would have to try it before passing final judgment.

There are more buttons below the controller. More than just the typical triggers.

Hold your PS3 controller backwards to understand how this might be comfy. It makes sense. It can work guys.

Steam controller won´t be exclusive to Steam machines. One can use whatever controller that suits him most.Nobody stops you from switching controlers depending on games genres.

I've seen some footage, it seems to work well. The controller looks great. I'm keen to try one out, see what it's like. I love the idea of legacy mode, use it for older games.
