Look like Square Enix is making another new IP for the DS.

Sigma Harmonics:

- Hiroki Chiba is directing (DoC: FFVII)
- Yusaku Nakaaki is doing the character designs (DoC FFVII's subcharcter and mechanics designer)
- Kitase is producing
- It's an Adventure RPG
- You hold the DS sideways like a book
- Persona 4-st.yle story, there seems to be a murder/mystery story.
- RPG elements (level up by experience gained from battles, etc)
- Divided to chapters, in every chapter a new murder/accident/mystery happens.

It also 60% completed and will probably coming(in Japan) in the Summer. Look interesting.

That's what I like to see. I'm interested to see where the neo-rpg/adventure style of games can go on the DS.

Idiot fanboy remark ? this game is a nail in the psp coffin just because the DS is getting more exclusive content from a publisher that usually dosent even consider nintendo for new IP's. What does the psp get ? Final fantasy crisis core and what else ?

Mario & Luigi in time is 8.9 but to answer your question "NO" there are quite a few at 8.5

Exactly. I didn't make this thread so that it can turn to a flame war. Anyway I glad SE is doing some new IP recently, but I am just a tad worry about this one, since some of the people that created DoC are making this one.

Here's some more info.

- The name of the game is tied in heavily with the sound theme in the game. In addition, the name of the main character is Sigma Kurokami.
- Sigma Kurokami, a stylish, bespectacled "sound user" whose family guards a huge clock sealing away the demon Ouma, ends up having to time travel and fight evil with his ****ate and childhood friend, Neon Tsukiyumi.
- Instead of cutscene animations there will be scrolling illustrations.
- They wanted to create a system with more depth than just figuring out who the killer is and inputting his name. Depending on how you reason out the case (and where you place "sound stones" on the Go board-like grid) the game sounds will change.
- The battle system looks to be as deep as the rest of the game, and you'll even find yourself in some RPG-****dungeons.
- We mostly fight with Neon, a character that is possessed by a god and can enter a trance to use its power. Sigma generally stays out of the way and gives directions by performing music.
- Another major "gimmick" in the game hasn't even been revealed yet.

I don't have my link for this stuff. >_> Sorry.

Well when you consider that they've been around for almost as long as Nintendo has (in gaming I mean) and that they have two of the most successful IPs in the market, it's pretty understandalbe that they'd be a huge company.

They're remaking DQ4+6 as well. DQ5 is the only one confirmed for a US release (rated by ESRB).

If there is one thing we can learn from Square-Enix, is that they are rapid at fixing up issues from past games in order to satisfy the masses, all the while keeping in track with their own standards.

Even though some members of DoC : FFVII are making this game, it also means they are able to reinvent a new formula. Besides, this game looks NOTHING like DoC to begin with >.>.

Nice, glad to see Square is trying to be new and uniqe instead of simply rehashing old series (though I personally wouldn't mind a FFVI remake). The fact that the guy who was responsible for Dirge of Cereberus is directing slightly worries me, but the game looks interesting enough that I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

  • Sigma Harmonics

  • Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days

  • Final Fantasy Versus XIII
  • Final Fantasy Dissidia
  • Final FantasyIV DS
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King
  • The Last Remnant
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
  • Dragon Quest IX
  • Star Ocean: The First Departure ALREADY RELEASED IN JAPAN, NO ANNOUNCEMENT FOR US OR EU
  • Star Ocean: Second Evolution ALREADY RELEASED IN JAPAN, NO ANNOUNCEMENT FOR US OR EU
  • Star Ocean 4
  • Dragon Quest VI remake for DS
  • Valkyrie Profile game for DS
  • Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Dungeon
