Lore behing Nier Automata...WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I was looking for a quick summary of Nier on YouTube in anticipation of Nier Automata since I never played it and heard the game was crap. But what I found is.....

And here I thought only Kojima was an asshole. WTF.....Dragons, gods, roses, demons, aliens and androids. I still don't know what happened apart from that in the end machines happen. O_o

My 3rd world bootleg PC runs circles around the not 4K capable PS4 Pro that run games at 720p but not 60 FPS in 2017. Ouch!

Don't worry, Mark Cerney is already thinking about which PC components to buy......errrrrrrrr....I mean thinking about the architecture of PS5.

I take you never played Xenosaga series then? Xenosaga did all of that before NeiR games started.

I just watched that yesterday. I was like wtf the whole time zoning in and out and unable to follow most of it. I still couldn't be more hyped for this game even though I have never played the others. I'm just a fan of Platinum and love the art style of this game. I think "games that Xbox fanboys do not want" is becoming my favorite genre. At least it's a genre that has really been on a roll lately.

I'm assuming Xenosaga is a JRPG. No, I didn't, haven't played that many JRPGs or even like it.

I watched that video like last week and it completely sold me on the game. I think what sold me was when a giant pregnant God fell into our world and then gets killed by a dragon. then the japanese air force shoots down the dragon. thats my kind of stupid ridiculousness.

Sounds perfectly like a Platinum Games' game.

Very excited to play this Platinum Games game that wasn't cancelled. The demo was excellent.

Nier was a fantastic game with wonderful characters and storytelling. The story it told however was... a little weird.

Well nier was garbage so you can't expect much of the sequel. To make things worse it is developed by platinum games.

@dakur: There is complexity and then there is absurdity that is poorly explained. Going by the video alone, there is a whole of convoluted crap going on "just because".

I enjoyed playing the demo so if the game is anything like the demo then that is all that matters.

I love Valkyria but the story is pretty silly in that game. Not Yoko Taro anime bullshit; but still silly as ****.

@jg4xchamp: It lacks, above else I feel, any modicum of tact and perspective (in what it's based on and what it does). Cool gameplay, but the story definitely was very much "anime does WW" type of stuff, with the usual obvious outcome and results.

As long as he gets to make the game play as he wants it to, he could do a more Kojima story than Kojima himself and people would still love it :P

@zeeshanhaider: Why be butthurt? The PS4 has the most impressive line up of games this year. It also has arguably the most visually impressive games coming next month. Nothing to be butthurt about about one dev who cant get a PS3 port to run in 4k. Despite its technical issues it is an amazing game.

@Desmonic: The stories of each individual Drakengard/Nier title are actually not all that convoluted. Things start to get really convoluted when you try to piece together the stories of each game in the series like this video does.
