What happened to the last 2 JRPG type games that would hopefully sell Japan? Enchanted Arms and Blue Dragon? That's why I don't have hopes for this game too much...I'm not saying it doesn't have potential, I'm just trying to say, Lemmings should stick to shooters.Bluestorm-Kalas
with that logic how can we disagree:roll:

I'll let it slide, no point in arguing opinion.
This thread is full of win though.

This thread is now about love and hype. Leave your negativity at the door
Here's a good link, it's from the Lost Odyssey forums here at Gamespot. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/lostodyssey/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-38688487&pid=928334 It has a lot of information to get you started. Kaim Argonar has been sentenced to live for a thousand years and engage in increasingly bloody and merciless battles with warring empires. Lost Odyssey follows his progress through multiple generations, as the stoic warrior bears witness to the deaths of his closest friends. Against the background of this tragic story, humankind has acquired the use of corrupt magical powers, and civilization is swiftly approaching "a mystical industrial revolution." While endowing immortality and godlike powers on those who master its arts, the desire for magic has corrupted the voracious multitudes and kindled an unending war. http://squarehaven.com/news/2007/06/18/Lost-Odyssey-firm-foundation

Folklore is exclusive.
White Knight Story Comes out next month in Japan though and will blow the others out the water.
Here's the intro to Lost Odyssey, it isn't flashy like the Final Fantasy VIII intro. But I feel it sets the mood, the music is sublime. I think many people owe Nobuo Uematsu an apology.

Jansen Friedh and Cooke & Mack (Only 2 under age characters, this isn't anything like Blue Dragon people)
The reason behind that is, I love a good story, I love depth and characters that aren't paper thin. Lost Odyssey is putting that on the table for me. It is the polar opposite of Blue Dragon.
When an RPG is good, it's like a good book. You can't put it down without finishing it.
With that said here's some "recent" news.
http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q4-2007/102707c.html
Mistwalker producer Hironobu Sakaguchi announced that the Lost Odyssey premiere event will be held on November 19. The event will feature a concert by game composer Nobuo Uematsu and a playable demo of the game. Along with the announcement of the premier event, Hironobu Sakaguchi released new details concerning the game.
He comments saying that a large focus of the game will be on the tempo; the game will move faster through the story, enemy encounters, and character speed. He says to "picture a densely packed game, where things flow by at a high pace." Along with this heightened game speed, the player will be able to jump to previously visited areas; however, if the player so wishes they will be able to walk the distance as well.
Also mentioned was the skill system implemented in the game, which will differ depending on the character currently in use. A mortal character will develop new skills as they level. However, an immortal character will leech skills off of other characters through a skill link; repeated use of the skill will eventually result in the immortal character learning the chosen skill.
Nobou Uematsu announced that the soundtrack will consist of more than 50 songs, with three vocal tracks. He promises more details about the soundtrack will be available during the Lost Odyssey premiere event.
I cant wait for this game. One of my most anticipated xbox 360 exclusives. This game will be awesome. The main character seems a little gayish looking but I love the battle system and always been an FF fan and a big JRPG fan, and from the last trailer, this game looked better then mass effect to me. Just my opinion but I really do think Lost Odyssey will be the better game out of those two games. This is on my top list with MGS4 and Final Fantasy 13. :)squallff8_fanYou made me do it squall, you MADE ME DO IT.
Lost Odyssey rockz my sockz and I think Infinite Undiscovery is the JRPG to hype after February 2008 on the 360 cause tri-Ace is an AMAZING RPG developer. You can't go wrong with these games. It's the perfect way to take th edge off the long wait for Final Fantasy XIII and I recommend it to all JRPG fans.peaceful_angerI couldn't have said it better myself.
I have a feeling this game is going to be 360's long awaited JRPG that will open the doors in japan.Art_424It'll open the doors and help sales alot, but after about a month or two that door will shut again until the next JRPG is released.
I'm not going to bother officially hyping it in system wars, but I expect an 8.0 or higher from Gamespot. If not I won't lose any sleep over a negative review from this site.I'm sticking with my A hype

I haven't been hyped like this for a JRPG in a long time and no review can change that for me at this point.
It'll sell fine, and probably do the xbox 360 good in japan.
I think this game will end up as a solid AA title. The 20 hours of cutscenes make me think there will be pacing problems.

too bad blue dragon flopped. WKS will do AA.
no voice overs in that game so i dont look foward to 20+ hours of CGI and text........ its in egmqbell
i heard different. i heard that the lips mouthed in english. therefore VO'ed in english. im not 100% but im going to have to disagree. i dont think that this late in gaming, deves r stupid enough not to put voice acting in games. especially JRPG's

Well usually voice overs does more harm than good for people who can read more than two sentences without falling asleep.
read this
I have high hopes for Lost Odyssey, but i think alot of the PS3 JRPG's like WKS will probably be superior.
