[QUOTE="jethrovegas"][QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]No love for LO? I know it looks slightly generic, but the cutscenes are good as well as the graphics and music.thinicer
I hate to say it man, but after what happened with Blue Dragon, very few people are going to get hyped for LO.
Why should anybody get hyped up for any JRPG? They all have pretty good graphics, yeah, but the mechanics pretty much stay the same - turn-based, hit-points, magic points, leveling up, spells, special attacks, etc. I mean, taking out random battles was considered a BIG deal for these games, a radical change.
Lost Odyssey will be popular among the Japanese crowd, but for a western audience I don't think so.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
The only people who hate turn-based RPGs are people who just don't have the patience for strategy. In American games, it's all about "twitch" and adrenaline. At least JRPGs boast storylines and gameplay that require a few seconds of thought before you mash the next button. The only Western dev that still makes games like that is BioWare, and even they're moving away from the careful timing and strategy-based gameplay of their earlier, better games.
