Lost Odyssey Downgraded - MS withholds content from those who refuse to pre-orde

Anyway I'm sure these two Slivers of content will be a free D.L. on XBL in the near future.

The first is "'The Forgotten Song' (found in-game at Virno's Tavern in Uhra)" which apparently 'recalls a fresh reflection of a dream.' Considering the main character, Kaim, is an amnesiac, and a good deal of the game is about piecing together his past, this would suggest that a significant part of the story is being withheld from the non pre-ordering public.

The other bit of content is a "'Master's Secret Script' that grants the skill 'Weapon Guard 2.'" This defensive bonus is effectively a cheat code, making the game slightly easier, and thus more accessible to newcomers. Since it is the hard-core RPG fans that will be pre-ordering Lost Odyssey, this set of training wheels doesn't make a great deal of sense, either.

Wow, how upsetting to all 12 people that buy this game.

I may rent the title for a few days to see if anything has changed about J-rpgs lately but if they have not changed in 20 years why would anything be different this time.

Its easy for anyone to do that... spin things to sound a certain way.

While it does not seem like the content missing or extra is really much of anything, I'm not a fan of content being with-held from a game to be added later... at worst, being sold. But it would probably be difficult to tell if there is added content that a dev decided to make and add to an already established game or was being held back.

Tons of other publishers have offered bonus content as an incentive to pre-order. This is nothing new. But because it's an MS published title, the cowtots go nuts.

And congradulations for you. Not everyone is blessed with the ability to have a wired connection. Like not everyone has an HDTV. So, out of the two, lacking an HD cable is less of an inconvenience.

But yes, a wired connection is better, which is why I have one.

Glad someone said it before me. You fanboys should really be in PR, because you guys can spin anything. Probably half the preorders that come out give you somethingexclusive for preordering. In the case of Gears of War, it was a t-shirt (at Best Buy;I think there may have been something different at Gamestop?), some of the newer racing games have had bonus cars when you preorder (BONUS CARS? OMG! You need cars to race, so the developers are making the game unplayable unless you preorder!!!), and there've been a couple shooters where you get an exclusive weapon with preorder. This is a fairly common business practice, and it happens on pretty much all consoles (except the Wii, where there are almost no games that receive the preorder treatment), so instead of making up stories about how one game is downgraded, take a look around and realize that everyone does this.
