Lost odyssey is the ONLY true JPRG this gen and only on 360.

If anyone played the game they would agree,Anyways im not much of a jrpg fan per say but i have played a handful of rpg's this gens and past gens,And None of those games come close to TRUE jrpg goodness lik lost odyssey.The rich story,Excellent old school gameplay, thousand dreams or whatever it's called...,Rich story,Kaim of course and 4 discs of 30 hours of HD jrpg gaming...

If your a jrpg fan and like mildy hard and epic story it could only be found by the power of the 360 and the papa of fianl fantasy if your jrpg fan and have niot tried it then your not a jprg gamer imo.

valkyria chronicles is on ps3 also and demons souls comes out in october.

The PS3 on the otherhand appears to have not 1 very noteable JRPG as of yet.

graphics dont matter when it comes to jrpgs, its about story and battle system, so really a 10 year old jrpg could hold up with any released today. jrpgs have no last gen/ current gen.

That's one of the first games I played when I got my 360 about 2 years ago. Not that great really. And multiple disks isn't coolll. It sucks lol.

But oh well. There really haven't been many good jrpgs to compare to... consider that the only justification you have.

Now I am not a HUGE JRPG fan but honestly frmoy my friends who are, they thought Lost Ossydey was crap. They said the game was alright but had a few major flaws. I ahven't played it myself because it came so low ont he recomendation list. On the other hand, you have games like Disgaea Valkyria Chronicles, on the PS3 and although i haven't much good about it star ocean on the 360 which despite the flaws it may have is very much a JRPG. Plus we ahve many nice little titles falling int he land of handhelds this generation. I find your post to be quiet empty. I'm not gonna talk down the game becuase i ahvne't played it but it definitely wasn't perfect was the point I am tyringt o make and it sure as hell isn't alone int he JRPG world this generation.

Alright I'm going to explain this once cause I have to leave soon. Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea, FFVII, Chrono Trigger, FF Tactics so on and so forth are all considered JRPG's, they are all Japanese based RPG's and that's what a JRPG is. Now for the people that like to get "technical" and say "Well this isn't a JRPG cause it's a SRPG." or "That isn't a JRPG cause it isn't turn based." that's all critical to the truth.

Now if we go by those standards than why would we need the terms JRPG's or WRPG's, they are not actual genre's, they are the names created to show what area of the map they are from, but if you really want to get technical.

Valkyria Chronicles is not considered a SRGP, it's actually considered a Action RPG by IGN standards. But is considered just a RPG by Gamespots standards.

Whereas Disgaea the one you were referring is a oh here's that term SRPG by IGN's standards. With Gamespot though it's considered, wait what's this a Turn-Based Strategy.

So there you have it RPG fans, so if people really want to start being technical than they're going to have to make a lot of abbreviations for the terms "RPG" the name ARPG's than go ahead the list would include TBRPG, MMoRPG, SRGP, ORPG, RTRPG so on and so forth. But alas, we get back to the point Valkyria Chronicles is a JRPG a Japanese based RPG.

THat first boss you cant tell me that is a fair boss fight. I looked up online how to beat him like all over the place, but every time i saw videos of people beating him, not only were they lower levels than me he just happened to not use any of the moves that take out your characters in like one hit, you have no chance, the only hope you have is that he doesnt use one of those ridiculously overpowered moves. My friend just happened to beat him, took him about 20 tries, and he ran into the same problem i did with the second boss, The game wasn't that fun anyways to put this much effort into it

what about Infinite undiscovery?? thats a JRPG that is exclusive to the 360. yeah it didn't got a good score here on gamespot, but it got a pretty good score on many other sites, its considered a good game.

Lost Odyssey was great but sorry
ToV, WKC, Demon's souls, Valkyria chronicles, The world ends with you, FFIV (DS remake) > Lost odyssey.

Losy Odyssey was a decent game that was plagued by a rather slow, boring pace and two of the mosy annoying characters ever created. It's not even the best JRPG on its console. That honor belongs to Tales of Vesperia, which is now on the PS3 at least in Japan. I still enjoyed LO, but the best JRPG this gen belongs to Persona 4. I love that game.

1- the TC is an xbot, he is Ninja Omega.

2- since almost all exclusive JRPG are lost on x360, he is using the last one to make his arguement.

3-the game is good but not the best in anyway.

Valkyria Chronicles is as much a JRPG as Starcraft is a WRPG. There's more stat distribution and role playing in the WIII single player than there is in Valkyria Chronicles.

I guess you haven't seen Demon Souls?

Are you talking about Lost Odyssey??? IF so then I must be some sort of JRPG gaming god, since I never had any problem with any boss in the game, and I didn't grind for levels until the very end of the game.
