Lost Odyssey looks good and its story seems very interesting. But, after playing rps games like Knights of The Old Republic, Tales of Symphonia and FF 12 i can't go back to playing old s tyle turned based Rpg games. anyone else feel the same way ?

also i am looking froward to playing Mass Effect 8)

I'll buy it since it seem interesting, but I agree with you. I really hate random encounters.:x

It all depends on how many random encounters there are. I couldn't play SKIES OF ARCADIA because it didn't seem possible to move more than a few feet before getting sucked into one. I couldn't begin to figure out where I had and hadn't gone because I kept getting into fights.

DQVIII seemed to have a reasonable amount if it was slightly toned down from there I would be fine with it.

I agree with the TC it seems like the game is making some interesting strides in every area but gameplay. Watching the videos you get excited then you are suddenly blind sided. It goes from an amazing scene that really screams next gen to Phantasy Star on master system in 5 seconds. An interesting battle system could make that game something truly great.

I see our point, but et's try not to confuse turn based with random battles. As far as I am concerned, I don't like random b's, but turn based remains my favorite.

Random encounters shouldn't be too big a deal if the combat is fun enough.

Honestely, no. I was never a fan of KOTOR. What i like is the good old jrpgs. I think that's why, despite not perfect and some bad reivews, i'm really enjoying Blue Dragon, believe it or not. I think Lost Odyssey will be even better. Can't waitto playit.

PS: but yes, i'm excited about Mass Effect as well.

I dont mind turn based rpg as long as they try and innovate it some way or something. Its the same with real time combat, it can be a sub-par piece of sh** or it could be the best thing since sliced bread.. just dont make a comabt system that sucks.

Old style turned-based doesn't necessairily mean random encounters.

What game ? Because you know... there are old turn-based rpgs which didn't have them.
