ok so not 1 person alone will change my mind, i've got me head set on getting a 360 in jan

but some advice would be nice.

basicaly i played a few ps3 games, and i loved it.. mostly for sports games. and well, my gaming PC is getting a little out dated 2.9GHz 512mb ram 128mb graffixcard - which may not be that bad.. but ontop of that my old monitor blew and i got a 5year old 600x800 now, no speakers. and the harddrive is getting abit full.. so i'm thinking it may be better value for money if a i got a xbox360 premium?

BUT, i'm a big bf1942 fan, and i love massive maps, 32v32 online gameplay.. and i've watched a few halo, gears of war youtube vids and it just looks like unreal tournament.. people running around like looneys picking up weapons, power shields and what not.(no offence UT fans, it's just not for me)

are there any or will there soon be any large scale war games coming to the 360?

upgrade PC?

sports, such as racing suck on the PC? (actualy that wassen't a question at all.. just in my opinion.. where should i go?)

Ouch tough break, looks like youl need to buy a new one from scratch, anyone here will suggest building one, cuts off hundreds and is not as scary as it seems.

If you like large games, the 360 wont have them, they will tell you they have some cruddy 64 player game from way back when, and dont buy any hype for the Console Battlefield, its 24 players and looks terrible.

If you love battlefield, Battlefield 3 on the PC will have 80 players ( 40 vs 40 ).

Since you already have a PS3 for sports games what other genres do you like?

I STRONGLY disagree.

ArmA is an aquired taste - you will love it or hate it. I love it. And 100 player mp is nice.

Still it has a steep learning curve, and really isnt for the faint hearted - so in TCs case it may not be advisable.

I hope not.

The game turned out to be a Quake Clone - wrapped in an MMO shell.

It is freaking faster than UT3. Bizzare eh.

If you're looking for racing games, try the Trackmania series. They're really arcadey, but they're quite a bit of fun. On your main question, build a new computer and get a new monitor from the curb. There are some nice ones out there if you look hard enough. =P

Stick with a console for racing/sports, buy some more ram and 256mb video card for your PC.

this advice is pretty spot on. If you like massive battles than you really can't go wrong with the PC.

If you've been playing BF1942 with that PC for the last 5 years, you'll be amazed at what new PC games are like and what you'd be able to play. Granted, you'd need to spend more than the price of an Xbox 360 Elite or the 40GB PS3, but it's all worth it. I'd say that you could get something good for $600.

EDIT: I found a rig that I picked-out for someone a few days ago. It'd play today's games maxed except for Crysis (It'd get Medium-High settings at 1280x1024 with no AA).

CPU: AMD X2 5200+ Brisbane $115

Motherboard: Biostar TFORCE TF520-A2 $60

Memory: A-DATA Extreme Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) RAM $50

Hard Disk: Western Digital Caviar RD WD1600YS $60

Optical Drive: LG Super Multi DVD Burner $30

Case: NZXT Alpha $55

Power Supply: Xclio Stablepower 460W $60

Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 3850 256MB $180

TOTAL: $600 before shipping.

You'd still need a new monitor, but, like I said, there are plenty of good ones on the curb or on Craigslist for cheap.

I really doubt that you will get better value with a 360, if you have been playing BF1942 for the past five years. It's still my favourite Battlefield, but there's just tons of PC games you've missed. And PC game prices drop much faster. Battlefield 2 costs already $10. The rig kodex posted is great for the price. If you get it, you will have games of the past five years to play flawlessly.

PC has tons of more A, AA and AAA titles for you than current gen consoles combines.

You can't upgrade your PC anymore, because it would mean changing everything. You also need a PC for a lot more than just gaming. You are most likely browsing this site with a PC. You check your email with a PC and so on.

Well, if you truly don't like PC games anymore, go 360.

I play on PC because of the games, I know I don't like console games as much as I like PC games.
If it's the exact opposite with you: 360.

Otherwise, upgrade. I did it, and I suddenly got interested in gaming in general again. :)
