WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR MASS EFFECT 2 AND 1 SO READ WITH CAUTION

  • The reason that Cerberus is put against us is explained at the beginning of the adventure (could it be because the Alliance gets the Normandy SR2 and technology, and SID, the AI of the ship? This a suppose of mine, not in the magazine)
  • Cerberus' troops include: Mechas, Assault units, Shock troops – ninja-s.tyle
  • Reapers: They have different sizes, ranging from 500-600 meters of the smaller ships to the 2km for Herald.
  • New skills for Shepard: Launched in search of coverage to Max Payne, rolling, jumping small holes in the ground, as the SWAT turn and strike the enemy with greater variety of melee attacks. It specifically mentions "a new c-lass Heavy Melee" take advantage of these capabilities of combat.
  • New skills: Engineer can build turrets.
  • Customizable Weapons, guns, sight … five variants in each section.
  • More items to "loot."
  • Space Battles? Perhaps, but unconfirmed.
  • Scenarios: Larger. We will see people walking, ships fighting, architecture in greater detail. Searching for the photorealism of the sites using new lighting techniques on the stage. It has also improved the atmosphere and the number of dynamic elements of the stage, increasing interactivity with the player.
  • Enemies: we can do dynamic damage into them. The Cerberus mechas, for example, requires that we shoot a weak point, the glass cockpit in order to overcome them. In other enemies we can cut off the arms, break the head or break various pieces of their armors.
  • Fighting more dynamic, forcing us to move more frequently. The game speed is improved by 10 to 15%.
  • Exploration: we won't drive vehicles seen in previous games. The main gameplay is designed without them and will continue so. This does not mean that there is no vehicle, but they can't reveal more now. There is a new scanning system.

Spoiler

  • Locations to visit:New York, London, a moon of ¿Koriana? (maybe they mean Quarian or Krogan) world, a salarian world and Mars, among others. The development of each environment takes about 6 months, testing the levels from the outset.

I looked through the scans and google translated the details they gave about the future of the series after Mass Effect 3.

With Mass Effect 3 closes the history of Shepard, but the universe that we created is still there, with many possible stories to tell. I see many possibilities in the future from an MMO to a degree of action in first person or even why not a platformer. It all depends on what players we ask in the future.

We've always wanted to include it, since the first Mass Effect. Explore ways to be able to offer for each delivery, but noestamos fully convinced of the solutions we have found so far.

One of my most anticipated this year. I hope they really go back to the roots of the original and build upwards, rather than taking the ME2 route and going further. I'm excited, but hesitant at the same time.

Me too. Loved those views while driving the Mako. Don't understand why players found it boring. It beats the crap out of the planet scanning anyway.

Melee class? Lol that's what I'll play as haha.

"Exploration: we won't drive vehicles seen in previous games. The main gameplay is designed without them and will continue so. This does not mean that there is no vehicle, but they can't reveal more now. There is a new scanning system."

They don't seem to be allowing us to land on planets anymore... hopefully I'm just reading into it but that's a bummer, unless of course the scanning is so much better we can find those planets that do have places to explore around.

EDIT: New york ... :| :| :| :| oh well at least they put london there to. Seriously devs stop using that place, I think I know it as well as my own town by now lol.

In-game pics or vids, seriously who gives a damn about written details? We're gamers we don't read!!!!! Come back with vids next time and stop wasting bandwidth.

CB4McGusto

Why wouldn't you want written details? It sounds a lot like they're taking the criticisms about the second seriously, and at least trying to make it more RPG than shooter.

CB4McGusto

pics only show you graphics and videos give details and gameplay, but written details tell you about the story, gameplay, new additions, epxploration, DLC, everything. I don't know if you're joking or not, but a lot more information is given from written details than pics or videos (most of the time).

They're thinking of adding multiplayer though, do you think we'd be able to see a good multiplayer system in Mass Effect?

I am getting close to being done with ME2 and I just beat ME1, but it would be so nice to see a thread or post with the new info that contains no story related bits, just gameplay and such. I want to read this, but why would I want to know anything about the story, even if I had beat ME2?

From what I read in Game Informer it sounds like they are trying to implement as much from the first game as they can. It seems like they're taking the best of both world (Combat: ME2, Everything else: ME1) and putting into one badass game. I personally cannot wait. :D

I am enjoying the Mako on ME1 (playing on PC), I would like them to bring it back BUT they would need to address the repetitive environments (all they do is re-skin some areas look the same)

Umm so far it seems the opposite to me. ME2 feels more like a tunnel shooter with bit worse (too easy) combat, but it has less annoying elements like item limit and so on. So I am now concerned haha. I beat ME1 and am far in ME2 right now, I will get back to the threads when i am done :P.

lol I wasn't, just really hoping ME3 can meet my expectations, which were really high for ME2 but turned out be a bit of a letdown given the hype. Still I am enjoying it very much regardless and can't wait to finish it.

Some of the planets are absolutely stunning, though. One of the most disappointing things about ME2 was not being able to go check out other planets. It made you really feel like you were doing some intergalactic space travel. I spent hours just driving around in the Mako. If they don't bring back some sort of vehicular planet exploration I'm gonna be one sad panda.

No, when I say combat I mean just the core shooting, cover, and movement mechanics. The first game your weapons weren't always effective enough to stop a mob of dudes from just rushing you and then you and your squad would be caught in a cluster **** of space pirates duking it out. They already said they are working on the combat areas to open them up and all that. The reason you don't notice an item limit in ME2 is because there are hardly any items. lol.

Yeah but it sucked when I had to reduce NEW items to omni-gel because my inventory was full. I couldnt just leave the items there or reduce other items I already had to Omni-Gel. I like having tons of items (are they having tons in ME3?) in the game, but it wasnt done very well in ME1 I dont think. The more open environments is great, but it doesnt mean much if the enemies just pop up ahead of you when you "enter the room". I feel like there are some nice bigger areas in ME2, but usually I just get a stream of enemies running towards me or sitting in cover. I need to feel as though they are all around me and I need to use the environment to my advantage, OR they are preset in areas or patrolling so I can tackle the situation differently. IDK maybe I am picky lol.

oh and btw, I think they took out the shaky feel of the camera when you take out your pistol in ME1. I thin that is gone in ME2 and I loved that. Maybe ME2 is easy to me because I am a sniper on PC :P.

Not to mention the new vehicle in the ME2 expansion was even better with improved controls and levels to explore. I would have liked to see that return with more planets in the main game.

My favorite universe of any game this gen. Thanks for the info, I'm going to have to limit myself from anymore until E3, after that, complete media blackout. Bioware spoils the hell out of their games.

Yeah, I think the kind of combat you're looking for is more along the lines of what Uncharted does. You couldn't stay in one place or you'd get flanked. Bioware admitted that they weren't taking the shooter aspects of the game serious enough and said that ME3 will be able to compete with the bests out there. So, hopefully all your woes will be laid to rest. ;) As far as the items in ME1, though, i hated omni gel'ing all my stuff, too. The thing is that you actually had stuff to begin with. ME2 you either picked up ammo or health most of the time and minerals sometimes. Nothing amazingly fun about that. In ME3 they will have weapon mods back, so I have a feeling there will be plenty of items to lug around. Anyway, what I was saying originally is that they are taking the best of both games and rolling them all into one with some improvements where needed. I guess you should just take that how you want it. There should be nothing not to like about ME3. :)

Sounds good to me! Hope they can deliver. Yeah Uncharted 2 to ME is some of the best gameplay in a TPS out there. But indeed I love the presentation and story in ME, so hopefully the rest is ironed out :).

Nice that they added a turret for the engineer class.

Seriously, YES. I know it may seem like a small tidbit, but the immersion was killed for me in the environments where there were loads of NPCs, but no change. They would all stand in the same place in the environment at all times:it felt like a Disneyland theme park ride. I hope this means not only NPCs in the world will move, but your squadmates on your ship as well. I want them to walk around instead of having their own little designated areas where they sit stagnant unless interacted with. This is one thing I was hoping but not expecting to be addressed in 3, thank you Bioware!

Combat sounds like it'll be like Uncharted 2's.

Sounds good. Liked the previous 2 games (Mass Effect 1 was my most anticipated title of 2007), but they were pretty disappointing in a lot of ways. Seems like they're fixing those disappointments I had in ME3.
