For those who may encounter some reliability issues with the disc drive. 😉
The fix is to wait until Sony either fixes this problem before purchasing a console or to simply just wait for the Pro model in 2 years.

Are mods really going to pretend there isn't a problem with lemming alts around here?
Mine is loud as **** when the disc is spinning. Its much louder than my ps4 i had.
That sucks. I can't stand that sound.
I'm still hunting for a PS5 but I'll most likely be picking up a discless version anyway. I haven't purchased a physical copy of a game in years.

What are you, the self-appointed alt police? Every single thread, all you can talk about is how many alt accounts people have. Anything to distract from all the great news coming from Xbox.

There's no need to get triggered over it if you don't have an alt.
Luckily I haven't had any problems with my PS4's or PS5, but my kids say their PS4 gets loud. Is it from mistreating the systems or is it just a problem that occurs in some consoles?
@NathanDrakeSwag: Are you going to go after everyone that has few posts made here? His account is older than yours , let's be real no every person posting here waste his/her days / 24/7 defending their favorite system like you do with your girlfriend ps5.
This is why the Series S was the only logical choice for early adoption imo. Only one moving part, the fan.
My original launch Xbox One, had fan noises and the HDD failed. So, I wouldn't have early adopted any other console. Even the digital PS5. Because the Series X and PS5 and really quite powerful for their size, so I also wouldn't know if there would be any heat related issues like RROD.
I would have waited at least a year for any other console to make sure any issues were ironed out. I wouldn't have been wrong, there's already a thing with the PS5 having various fans or something.

Well in this video they're talking about a broken PS5. Maybe yours is broken? First I'm hearing of this problem. I buy physical so almost each game I'm playing there's a disc in the drive. No problems yet and it's seeing heavy use.
Nah it's quite common, my disc drive is loud as well and it wants to randomly spin when I'm not even playing the game that's inside the drive...
@Pedro: You're assuming the disc drive was a hardware failure. Obviously if it was normal use they would get it fixed under warranty so if a serious problem comes up they could get that fixed too. They fucked it up so they had to get a third party to fix it.
It was one of his Patreon's that send it to him. The channel is focuses almost primarily on fixing consoles and in order to show the repair of consoles, you need consoles that are broken in someway. You are making the assumption that they messed it up from user error or abuse without any evidence to back your claim. The video does not indicate any misuse of the drive. Also you are ignoring the fact that issues with the drive being noisy has been documented.
You attempted to damage control with a video in which the HDMI was damage by the user. Again, there is no need to be disingenuous or to damage control. You can easily find a vid in which a hardware failure has occurred on the Series X to ease your anxiety.
EDIT: So, I was correct. You were damage controlling. 😂🤣
@Pedro: You're saying someone is going to willingly void their warranty and pay for future repairs by not getting an official repair? Claiming it's widespread too on top of that? No, this is your thread:
You are asking a question that was clearly answered by the person sending his PS5 to him. Nowhere in any of my comments indicated anything about a widespread issues. It is particularly clear that this video made you upset. So upset that you needed to damage control and deflect to not only Series X|S but to Xbox One and 360. 😂🤣
Fortunately I haven't had any issues with mine. Good thing because I'm not about to try to do that shit myself.

Yep this. Its not exactly noisy when inserting a disc like in the video.
If you've ever worked on many games consoles you'll realize the guts of all optical drives are a bunch of weak plastic gears and rubber belts. It's why all my disc based consoles, be it PS2, OG Xbox, Dreamcast, Gamecube, have all had their optical drives replaced with a solid state drive or SD card reader.
Which is why I LMFAO at the anti-digital people who say physical is superior because they'll still be able to install their games 10 years from now and play it.... shit, your optical drives ain't even going to work 10 years from now.
