DUde u have no clue what your talking about
1. They cannot make blu-ray incompatible...because they don't do compatability for any software...Sony or the Blu-Ray association creates drivers for Blu-Ray and its codecs...MS has nothing to do with it
2. DirectX is for GAMING. It really has no use in Video Playback.
Just give up Blu-Ray>>>HD-DVD....and MS is bearly even support HD-DVD.

No they can't, hence past antitrust issues. :|
The majority of studios have spoken. And they seem to like the format from the company that also owns a studio themselves. Which means they may know a thing or two about movies, and the film industry.
When Sony bought Columbia, it was a crumbling mess that Coca-Cola ran into the ground. Now look at them.
THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO BE TALKING ABOUT BLU RAY AND HD DVD1. they should have made vista non compatable with blu-ray.
2. They should make the next direct x the same. boom no more blu-ray.

There used to be a sticky topic saying topics like this are not allowed...
This is what happens when MS tires to restrict things:
"In the U.S. Justice Department's antitrust case against Microsoft, the company was found guilty of using illegal monopolistic practices to discourage PC manufacturers from promoting software, such as Netscape's Web browser, that competed with Microsoft applications."

And with all the money they have, u would think they couldve atleast made their systems more reliable. That should be there first priority since us gamers are the ones who end up getting screwed in the end.

All I did was tell you that there was a sticky topic saying topic like these are off-topic and should not be on System Wars. Just giving you a heads up thats all ;).
1. Why do people even think MS has anything to do with this? They support HDDVD because it isn't Sony but they have nothing to do with the movie business.
2. They couldn't do that. Windows is open platform and drivers are provided with the drives. It uses the same codecs as HD-DVD too.
3. Why the hell do any of you care about the format war? Blu-ray is a better format in a better position to win. Supporting HD-DVD through some really messed up hateful spite of Sony is just stupid.
