If this was already posted, jsut kindly tell me. Not a bad score, and it got a good control emblem so people can stop sayingwii controls are irresponsive and that's why this sucks so much :roll:

Honestly though, the only reason it got .5 lower is because the clowns at EA seem to refuse to update the visuals.

If it wsa referring to 07, then by scores alone, yes...

Of course, the big addition is the online action. It's only for one-on-one play, and you can't play any of the minigames online. But considering there wasn't any online play of any sort last year, this is a good start. Getting online and playing against others is a snap, especially given that Madden 08 doesn't use friend codes of any kind. You just hop on, sign up for EA's online service, log in, and start looking for games. You can keep a friends list, check out leaderboards, and hit up lobbies to chat with other players before diving into a game, although chat options are limited to canned text phrases. The online performance of the game seemed solid through most of our time with it. Every matchup with a good latency rating featured little to no lag and proved plenty of fun.

Of course not... The game showed friend codes aren't necessary at all for devs... This means Wii's online games may have one area of suck removed...

I still hate EA for the whole NFL2k series thing.

A few months before they bought the rights for the NFL teams and everything, there was a quote in EGM from an EA respresenetive. When asked about the 20 dollar - 50 dollar price battle between NFL2k and Madden, he said "They could include a ham sandwich with the game and people would still buy Madden".

Then NFL2k does better than Madden and OH GOD JUST GOTTA CLEAR THE COMPETITION.

They were braggin last year about 07 and then this year they were doing the same and saying how the Wii is the best for sports games because Madden will once again be better on Wii. Now, they will just go back to saying sports games suck (unless it has Mario in it or Wii Sports of course).

ill always think mario power tennis is the best sports game i have ever played. i dont play much sports games of course but still.

Because it can't be over 0.1 points. For all you know the PS3/360 version could've been 8.3's and the Wii one could've been 8.2.

lol, go and read the reviews, both at Gamespot and Ign. You'll see that the visuals suck across all platforms in respect to their standards. But guess what? It's not the graphics that makes the game as good as it is on the 360.

Soccer is much more dynamic. American football is like watching a chess game. If you want violence in sport watch rugby union or better yet boxing.

I could agree with that, though I did play football (american) in high school. Getting drilled in the earhole by a guy twice your size on a 105 degree Texas day sometimes has its drawbacks. In those instances I would have much preferred playing soccer!

Why do you think they didn't port it from the 360?

Furthermore, I hope you know they used different stanadards to grade the Wii version from the 360/PS3 version?

This is how it goes down. We gain a bit better version of Madden last year, we simplely put out there that we can still get good multiplats, sometimes the better versions, and that the controls can be worked to make it good. So time passes, and bitterness stays, this year, it ranked a bit lower, and you have you time to stike to lame reasons. "It flopped, so it means it sucks." Hello, its still a good mulitplat on the Wii. Did that change? Nope,still stands. Did they update enough? Nope, so there you go, there's the score. Pretty much we tried to prove positive point against the crap you throw at us, and when the slightly to strike, you do it. Simple. Get it? Not the best this year, but still a good multiplat on the Wii's end.

It didn't flop. It still got AA. And no I will never smash my Wii.

I rented it today, damn its awesome. The graphics are actually really sharp, do not let screenshots fool you because everything is nice and smooth when the game is running, character models are pretty good, however one downside is that not all characters look unique, some look similar and the create-a-pro feature is very limited in facial customizations. Still a good game but mastering the controls is a bit tough when you are a complete n00b to Madden like I am. The controls are pretty good, took me about half an hour to understand the mechanics but the training is nice in that respect, however you have to remember the configurations for the different play modes, like setting up to throw to your wide receiver,doing kicks and both the offensive and defensive control mappings and what each button does.

My only complaint is the music, dunno whether EA supports custom tracks using an SD cardfor the Wii version like Excite Truck does and some other games.

Ya know, I used to hate football, cause I found it boring and the game is pretty complex, but still I only watch CFL cause NFL is not nearly as exciting imo. As a Canadian I can safely say that the majority of football fans are American's, same with Nascar (which is not actually a sport) that no one else in the world cares about. I am actually a huge hockey fan and more people should watch such an exciting sport, dunno about soccer though because on our side of the pond, we take our sports like hockey and football far more seriously about the rest of the world. Soccer is easily accessible to everyone because it is an inexpensive and fun sport.For us North American's, hockey and football cannot be played all year due to it being too hot in the summer for football generally and it gets pretty cold in the winter even though hockey is mainly played indoors. Butfor the rest of the world they can pretty much play soccer all year round indoor and outside because the weather suits them, however they also like soccer because they consider it to be the sport their country is the best at, just like American's with football and us Canadian's with hockey.

Crazy thing happened to today, Blackbond. I may not actually buy a Madden game in any time, but I went to play the 360 version of it at Gamestop today and I actually was enjoying myself. Even if it was on the easier of differculties, I did some amazing things.. Anyways, that is all.. XD
