To celebrate our love for rating the worst of the worst and to commemorate Fantastic Four for giving us a plethora of jokes and punchlines for the year 2007 I felt like we should come to a consensus about what machine wears the crown for most abysmal piece of trash ever.

My vote is the Virtual Boy.

I've included only machines from recent memory. No Atari 5200 here.

Anyone who does not vote for Virtual Boy is insane. I mean, come on, how many other consoles actually hurt you while playing them? Other than the occasional PS3 burning down your house or something.

Virtual boy in terms of playabuility, you cannot play something that's always red and gives your neck cramps after 10 minutes. And in terms of desine, ngage. The buttons were horrible, the game actually needed to be changed by taking out the batteries, and with those in store demos, when I tried playing a game, it always kept on brining up the option to clal osmeone with it.

I've played every one of those systems on there, and they all suck bad (with the exception of the Sega CD, which sucked only slightly). And like other people said, only the Virtua Boy was capable of hurting the user after excessive use. My head ached for an hour after playing like 5 minutes of that crap.

*Edit : Oh yea, it was in the stores for literally one week where I am. Came in, had a little section devoted to it, came out instantly afterwards. Kinda swept under the table by Nintendo and anyone who sold it.

The dirty little secret basically.

While I could have easily included machines like the TurboGrafx and the CDi, I felt like we're going for the absolute worst. Other machines mentioned have been either too recent (Playstation 3), had too much success based upon these standards (N64), or simply did not have the marketing and all around hype surrounding them like these five representations did.

I never had any problems like that with the virtual boy. Mario Tennis was a wicked game on that system, and the wario game was pretty good. Teleroboxer was fun as well. Golf hurt me with it's buzzing textures. In the end, it just didn't have the games. I voted 3D0 because it was like $800 with no games, while I bought VB out of the bargain bin for $30

Turbografx was only a flop on the level of the Sega CD, or just slightly less of a flop, at least that's how I see it.

The Virtual-Boy. The ONLY time I've had media-induced motion sickness was because of that damned thing, and I think it even put a few people in the hospital.

After the ties it had to the mafia were exposed, it got canned. I have a few ancient Game Informer mags that have advertisements for it, and I get a shuckle everytime I see them.

But combined the Add-ons of the Sega Genesis have established new levels of suckiness.

Exactly. It didn't really have a long enough life for people to remember its bomb. But the N-Gage was and is a total piece of crap. A phone that plays games that are almost impossible to put in! Great!

Probably the CD-i for raping the Zelda franchise. "Well excuuuuuse me, princess..." As far as the other platforms go... -The Jaguar didn't really have any notable titles that I know of. In fact, many of EGM/Seanbaby's 20 Worst Games Ever were Jaguar games. -The Virtual Boy was an interesting concept, but it was just too RED! Not to mention its lack of killer apps. -The Sega CD had some notable titles, Not sure about the 32X. -The N-Gage might have ONE notable title, but that's about it. I'd rather use a Palm OS or Windows Mobile smartphone for cell phone gaming. (Emulation and FPS ports, not to mention all kinds of other functions!!) -The 3DO is at least notable for being the only other platform besides the IBM PC to get an official release of the greatest game of all time. (In fact, UQM is the 3DO version backported to the PC and other platforms!) The ridiculous price tag killed it, though. (You thought 599 US DOLLARS was too much for a console? The 3DO shot over that barrier...unless you wanted to get a 3DO Blaster, but then you had to have an IBM PC with a ISA slot and a 5.25" bay free for the special CD drive, making it even more expensive.)

Virtual Boy for sure. Considering Nintendo's previous dominance of the portable market (remember, it was designed to be portable)it wasan astronomical flop for them.
