Fine with me, compared to Madden08 on the Wii...

The Wii version is pretty much going to be the PS2 version with Wii controls. Go watch the dev interview over at IGN and just listen to all of the changes that will happen with the next gen versions of the game. It is going to be better.

We are talking about 08, not 07. Good job keeping up with the topic bubbles.

The review score means nothing. When you are playing Madden competively you don't play it for some gimmick innovation you play it for realism. PS3 and 360 versions will be better and you will never see a serious Madden tournament choose the Wii as the console. That tells you something.
The 360 version will be the best version.eastside49er
They removed game modes and features in the 360 version of '07, compared to the PS2 version. I sincerely hope they don't continue that trend with the '08 versions for the PS3 and 360.
Oh, who am I kidding, I'll probably buy the Wii version anyway, so I don't care.
No friend codes is a bad thing, how will we be able to play with friends now?
Eponique
EA will have an EA specific Friend code system. I assume it will carry accross all of their sports games.
the 360 version is still the one to get for me. Madden 07 on Wii was fun and all, but it looks like garbage on my HDTV.
The main reason II'll choose the 360 version this year is because 360 also gets NCAA 08, which is not only the better game, but will allow me to carry my character over to Madden. Plus the Madden Challenge will be using the 360 version.

seems like EA has something they are making call EA nation which you sign into and it'll do the matching, ranking , and unmatched play online.
I wonder if their will be some kind of EA channel coming that would be amazing

Sports games are about fun, not pretty graphics. When you are running down the field you arent going to be seeing your teams faces so it doesnt really matter. And you should really read the reviews, almost anyone with half a brain would agree that the Wii version of Madden 07 stomped the competition in terms of being a great sports game, probably one of the most unique to me since I played Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 which was the last great sports game EA put out.
I am more concerned about NHL 08 being on the Wii, ya know being Canadian and all, I havent played a hockey game aside from the demo on the 360 for 2k7 which I thought sucked.DSgamer64you should play the NHL07 game because I liked it more the 2K7 but I like the 2K series more the the other series when it isn't Hockey but for Hockey I tend to like EA's Hockey games more.

Thats nice. The Wii's bad graphics have been upgraded from bad to average. I will still take the PS3 or 360's superior graphics.

So your purposly choosing an inferior game just for pretty graphics?
Some call it responsiveness. Others call it twitch. Whatever you want to call it, Madden 08 is fast and fun. Remember back in the days when you didn't need the juke button to lose a defender? You could simply hesitate, wait for a defender to commit, and run out of the way. It's strange how the Madden team has looked back at what made past games great. It's brought back all those old twitch elements and eliminated old exploits like corner routes and Michael Vick domination, and we're not talking about the championship pit bull circuit. A new fatigue system ensures Vick won't run horizontal for a hundred yards before outrunning the defense to the pylon for six. Vick will still get his, but his runs will play out more like real football where he just breaks ankles the old fashioned way. Then throw in next-gen graphics, animations, gang tackling, mid-air collisions, Hit Stick 2.0, and improved AI (especially on the deep ball) and you are left with what may be the most enjoyable Madden in years."
-What IGN had to say about Madden 08 on the 360.
So lets see...move hands around toreplace buttonmoves....or actually watching your characters play the game realistically.
The Wiimote novelty will wear off rather quickly when whats on screen doesn't match your hand movements.

Madden 07 on the PS2 scored awfully close to Wii's 8.4 (With an 8.1)
That was without wiimote functions.
PS2 Madden 07 > PS3 AND 360 versions. Without waggle. Imagine that.

With all of that, I might as well just go watch an NFL game :P
but seriously though, I think it will be better on PS3/360 this time around.
I'll get the Wii version anyway though, because the graphics in Madden aren't a big factor for me.
I have never cared about footbal games.....I still have yet to give Madden 07 a try on the Wii but the Maddens on the Wii sound like they are a ton of fun HarlockJC
Neither have I until I played Madden 07 on the Wii, it just was a completely new gaming experience and was a boat load of fun to play, the game was easy to get into unlike Madden 04, which was the last one I had played. The graphics are not the best but really, its a sports game,I remember when sports titles used to be fun and I think Madden on the Wii is a big step towards a whole new realm of gaming in sports. I remember the transition from 2D sports to 3D, the control stick made games like Madden and NHL hockey easier to play and were a lot of fun, for the first few installments, but then like everything else, the novelty of the control stick eventually became boring and the games rarely change. EA has in recent years no doubt updated their game mechanics though, I like what they did with Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2005 on the GC, the shot system was so much better then in previous versions but it was tricky to master. Then 07 came up on the Wii and things changed a lot, the Wiimote just provides so much more control over the game and how you actually play it, its much more involved, same goes for Madden 07.

Uhh... last I checked, the Wii supported multiple controllers and online games, I'm pretty sure you can still compete. Also, the reason why the Madden Challenge is on the 360 is because Microsoft is a big advertiser on ESPN and are sponsors of that show. So using Microsoft's marketing as a reason for their superiority is pretty stupid.[QUOTE="goblaa"][QUOTE="wmc540"]Sports games are about competition, not about having fun.

I would like to know how the Wiimote works for defence. As we all know defence wins championships.dmaximum
Defense was easily the hardest thing to really master in 07 on Wii. Besides kicking. I'm glad they're revamping the kicking system.

Really, I found the kicking easy as pie. I loved it. But my friend just couldn't get it down. So maybe I'm just special?
And yeah, the defense needed some work.
