Madden=Chess?

Madden is the undisputed king of sports games, it sells a bunch every year, the online is crowdedfun and the single player modes are well done. Is this the new Chess, or am I woofing?

I dont see another game that combines one-on-one strategy, AIand stick controlas well.

Chess sims and RTS games are similar to the old chess, madden as stated is deeper and more dependent on digit dexterity making it the new chess
