Yes, SW hates him for over a decade now, but its actually a really good review. Can you imagine being a fan of Madden, and THIS is what you're getting EVERY YEAR? This is way beyond unacceptable. They're charging $70 for a game that looks and feels more F2P than Diablo Immortal. But just like mobile gamers, they come back every year and EA makes record sales. Pathetic.

Madden is a game you should buy once every 4 years. That's what I do and I love football. But yeah, I don't get people who buy the shit new every year. I've got friends that do and it's pretty dumb. Drop 60bones for the updated roster. If you wait 4 years it barely makes enough difference to make it worth it.

I have never seen anyone shilling such a shitty Madden game (and yes, he's getting paid to do so) when Joe and the other YouTubers Madden fans are all calling out EA's pathetic another Madden release game! The review was long but I'm a sadistic bastard and it gives me pleasure seeing Joe had to do this review for over an hour worth of content.

Joe is such a clown. The game is good, it’s Madden. This is like complaining CoD doesn’t change much. It’s a game released every year on a console that doesn’t change, wtf do you expect. i remember me and my mates getting the very first madden game on the amiga back in like 92 or something. was quality. and then trying to play american football in school with a rugby ball.

sounds like a standard ea thing. similar situation with fifa. got a few mates who buy it every year and do nothing but moan about it being same game, different year, buggy etc. they still keep buying it though. last one was £70. fck. that. no more ea fifa after this year though. ea sports fc next time. im sure ea will take that opportunity to reboot and create a new quality product

Havent bought or played a Madden Game in 10 years. The franchise is pure trash for casuals

Never played the game or anything, but you look at this, and it has style, and you know this game was built with gamers in mind.

Honestly I've been really enjoying it. I find it much better than the last couple/few years.. Ultimate Team no money spent is entirely possible this year and it's a solid overall game. I probably have around 20 hours or more on the game currently and there are 3 free passes in the game to earn rewards which I am very close on all 3 to getting some nice cards.

I've only encountered one bug/glitch so far other than shit not loading in properly in the menus the first couple days.

My favorite football game is still NFL 2K5 followed by NFL Blitz and older games like NES Play Action Football and Tecmo Bowl, and although I wouldn't necessarily say this game is great in my opinion it is a big step up from the past few years.

I really miss college football and basketball but it is promising to hear they should be returning soon after like 15 years of blocked contracts... When that day finally arrives once again then I'll probably just focus on them though. I think it will be a lot harder to find ways to monetize those games unless they bring back older players from the schools in packs and DLC.

@WitIsWisdom: Yeah, it’s been pretty sweet. Only bug I had was my week 1 game my dudes came out in what looked like their practice gear. Then when I excited out it gave me a tie. Had to restart but hasn’t happened since.

Unless they monetize it the same way as their Madden titles, there's no way we will ever see a football game from EA that tries being as good as it can be, in other words, a game made for gamers.

The people that buy this game buy like two games a year. They buy Madden, and they buy whatever is the big shooter/battle royale/soulsborne game.

This isn't marketed or made for most of the people that care enough about games to post on a video game website.

Mutant League Football that came out a few years ago is a much better game anyway.

Don't hate the guy. Just find it funny how he sits on the sideline observing popular opinion, then scoots in last minute with a review that echoes general sentiment point for point. A confirmation bias machine. Smart move actually, just funny how people continue to bite. Never seen him add anything new or interesting to the convo.

Anyways, haven't seen his vids in a while. Pretty sure I haven't played Madden since gen 4 lol. Definitely not sitting through an hour of that to see what's what.

@eoten: Hell yes! I wouldn't say it's quite as good as peak Blitz, but it's the closest anyone has come recently. Kinda wish the old Genesis Mutant League games would get released on modern systems.

Simplicity is sometimes better than an intricate experience which is why I never felt the need to play this franchise past the SNES/Genesis days. In my opinion though what you get is based on the need to release a game per year w/o much of a break. You see it with Madden, WWE, etc..,

Joe has NEVER had an original take on a game. His videos are compilations of Reddit /YouTube/twitter posts. He’s literally just regurgitating peoples comments back at them. And people are like “Joe was spot on!” 🙄

What? Firstly, every youtuber does this. Its a smart thing to do, and he is not as knowledgeable as someone who mains these crappy games for ten plus year (and there are channels that do). Secondly, he does love football and the Madden games. When the game is such a failure, it fits his shtick, yes, but it has nothing to do with clicks, its EA who've given us a trash game he can talk rage about.

I think he got worse and after having some opinions that got him in trouble with his toxic base, then yeah he became even more of an echo chamber for those idiots.

His tantrums always made me cringe but he was among the reviewers I used to check. Over the years he became more and more unbearable to watch. To be honest I thought he wasn't around anymore.

The dude couldn’t name 5 players on any team, what teams are in what division, the defensive/offensive formations etc. He doesn’t know anything about football, outside of the casual hate for the Madden series, and the impact making videos about Madden has on his channel

There is no way that he is talking about football just because its popular. I mean, that's going a bit too far.

I remember him talking about NFL games when his channel was tiny, and these vids weren't even doing that well compared to others (sports games in general weren't doing too hot). And if he does make nfl related vids just cuz its popular, why not fifa and nba ones? Fifa is even bigger, and nba is massive as well.

NFL stuff is VERY popular in the U.S. TimTheTatMan also talks about the NFL often. He's streamed from AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys) and has streamed with NFL players. Tim knows almost nothing about NFL football. He's a casual fan at best. It's not that hard to believe that a guy that works in a click and viewership based field would chase the clicks. Unlike Tim, Joe isn't very talented, so chasing clicks is how he pays the bills... Tim would be on TV/radio one way or another. The dude is very talented on camera.

Yes, i know that its VERY popular in the US and that tim and doc are always talking about nfl. This has nothing to do with Joe liking football. Liking football and not knowing the names of everyone is most certainly the majority of football fans, so are you gonna tell me that if they were to make a video, it would be about clicks, and not just them expressing their opinion about a game they enjoy? And why are you talking about Tim's talent? Nobody cares about who has more talent. I feel like you're just hatin' on the dude, which is SW's standard for over 10 years, so not too surprising.
