Main reason i fell that everyone (almost) hates update 3.00

Normally we get a bunch of 1.XX or 2.XX updates...small simple updates, nothing too useful, but nice they added it

but when the number rolls over to another number like 2.00 or in this case 3.00...everyone knows that's when MAJOR changes are supposed to occur

when we finally got 3.00, we were all very disappointed because there was NOTHING major about it and it should still be 2.XX right now

it's not that it's a bad update, it's just that we all hyped it to be just that because of it being 3.00...i think the main reason of this though was because sony was planning to put cross game chat in, but couldn't...they had already announced that the next update would already be 3.00, so they kept it that instead of making us think that they were dumbing the update down for us (which was quite obvious they did anyways)

idk, this is just how i feel...3.00, new main number, should have been great...but just a bunch of .XX crap, that's why it was a let down

the 3.0 update for the xmb is perfectly fine, for the hannah montana themed psp, pink and sparkles

added some sparkles in the background, ugly borders around your friends, mess up some people DS3 controllers, caused freezing to some games for some, added some new motion backgrounds that you have to pay for so doesn't really matter, made the store more navigable because they thought we were dumb

They gave us the lowdown of what was going to be in the blog. The expectations were set there ,a magical whole number doesn't set the expectations. If chat features were ready , they'll thow it in. If they are ready for 3.4 , then it will come then.

It changed the bootup sequence and font for the release of the slim model. They felt like adding 3.00 to differentiate the firmware. 1.80 was one of the biggest firmware updates, wasn't it? And ingame xmb was 2. whatever it was. None of the big numbers have been special updates.

You "feel" that "everyone has the same dislike for 3.00? Who is everyone? Everyone who owns a PS3? Certainly not. I'm happy with it, even if it doesn't change the world, or make my PS3 do jumping jacks when I get a trophy. Don't generalize.jimkabrhel

I notice the word and in this case "almost everyone" and "everyone" is similar. Still generalizing where it isn't warranted. I should just give up semantic arguments in SW, it never gets anywhere.

One poll doesn't not allow and "almost everyone". Based on other threads on this subejct, most people are indifferent or positive.

In all honesty, I can't believe people actually care. If anything, it added sparkles, no one can diss the sparkles. The 360 certainly couldn't handle it.

I only hate it because that *twinkle* sound was removed when you start up games.
