[QUOTE="subrosian"][QUOTE="bloodyclot"][QUOTE="lawlessx"] [QUOTE="elementz28"]Will Gears of War 2 be mulitplatform?? Microsoft relationship with Epic isnt so good now..lol..Takin shots at eachother..ATrillionaire
depends on the contract they have. and i highly dout that this little thing will cause Epic to make the game muitiplat. besides..its not like the game will be noticed on the ps3 compared to the 360 where the fanbase is.
and another very important word............. LIVE
Microsoft has Epic by the meatballs when it comes to Gears of War, and any of its sequels. Those contracts are so tight, and the money is so good, that Epic is going to work hard on Gears 2.
What Epic has been doing lately is all a publicity stunt, and they're lucky Microsoft doesn't want the negative press of making a court case out of it. "Oh we wanted those maps to be free, but big bad Microsoft is charging for them" - they conviently use the out of a contract, but I don't see them refusing their half of the DLC money - they're not exactly offering the gamers all the money they made by MS charging for some of the maps.
It looks really good to complain about the hand that's feeding you, we all go "awww... poor Epic" while Epic rakes in MS money. It's like being an Exxon shareholder and saying "yeah, gas prices are too high, poor guys, and oil companies are destroying the earth!" ... reaaaaaaally now? Then why are you taking their money?
Good for you Major Nelson, they absolutely deserve it for taking your money while burning you for publicity at the same time.
Not to mention that every frickin' second they spend on Gears of War, they are spending Microsoft's money. As if Microsoft could sell an Xbox 360 to Walmart for $279 and expect Walmart to sell it to the consumer for $279. Blame the people who buy the content. Don't blame Microsoft. FYI, Microsoft isn't a private company. It is expected to make money for its shareholders....you know, the guys who make $40,000 a year.
Do yo realize how much money MS makes? It's not from their gaming division at all, it's their OS for your information, which completely subsidizes the gaming division.Â
Here is their earnings report, the entertainment divsion is a joke compared to the rest, without them charging for maps, I don't know what they would have done:
