 @ people saying Majora's Mask just to be different.
That was the WORST 3D Zelda game.
What fun to play a game with a giant ugly moon creeping towards you at all times. Most relaxing game ever!
Was so disappointed with that game... bought it on release day... no way does it come anywhere close to the greatness of OOT.

I can say the same for people who said OOT just to go with this society's conformity. They can believe whatever they want to believe, and can't hardly be justified to be 'd at just because their opinion is different than yours.

Maybe some people just have a different opinion. Ever thought of that? MM has been my favorite Zelda game since the very first time I played it. Before I found out that alot of other people didn't really like it. I like the tension that the time element has and I love the depth of the game.
No it wasn't because of the timer, but because of the characters and puzzles. The characters all had their own schedules, they were all recognizable from OoT but were all surprising and the situations You ended up in were all mysterious and interesting. Like the alien kidnapping, the disappearance in the hotel etc. The transformations were another huge dealmaker for me. I love transformations. That's the main thing i loved about TP as well. There were also minor masks with all kinds of funny effects. They were far more interesting than the bugs in TP. And cool swords as well! In the next few zelda's i really really missed that kind of (character) depth MM had. The timer was annoying at first. At some point You get to speed up or turn back time and i started to like the challenge of having to get something done before it's too late while being able to just walk around for three days if i wanted to. If only the next zelda would take a similar approach... @ people saying Majora's Mask just to be different.

I am pretty sure Twilight Princess takes it for me. I just loved the adventure and everything was well done and such.
Next would be The Wind Waker. Loved the art direction and sailing, plus the charm and story were great.
Ocarina of Time is next. Not that I find it worse than those two, but I just think the other two are better games. A contradiction, I know. Yet nostalgia does constantly make me want to play this game, so it has that going for it.
I have never beaten Majora's Mask so I can not comment.
Majora's Mask, very closely followed by OoT.
@ Famibox:
If you went in expecting OoT 2, it's no surprise that you'd be disappointed. I suggest you play it again and judge it by its own merits. It really is a fantastic game; there's nothing quite like it.
[QUOTE="Skittles_McGee"]TP>WW>MM>OOT The series has gotten progressively better, always adding to the formula.Cherokee_JackToo bad Majora's Mask's additions were pretty much ignored by future installments.
MM was much more than the sum of it's parts. I think they would have had trouble integrating alot of the stuff that was so good in MM into other zelda games. Maybe they will be able to duplicate it one day.

Great point dude!

Wind Waker, just my favorite and it's the most up to date Zelda. then OoT for being revolutionary and having that "it". MM just for being fun, different, and still feeling like a zelda game. TP, honestly, I despise it. Step backwards for the series, Zelda is not about combat moves and trying to be mature, it's just supposed tp be a thing of it's own. I also really didn't like the art style, feels like it's trying to pretend to be another game. TP is still a good game, just not Zelda to me, all up for upgrading the franchise, TP just didn't do it right for me.PrydesUh... Twilight Princess wasn't any more "mature" than any other game in the series.

TP hit me in the wrong spot with Illia and Midna's story. That felt forced in a "mature" kind of way, art style didn't help that either, though if it had WW or MM art style, I'd probably still feel the same way about it.

To each his own. I thought it fell on its face story-wise.

[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]To each his own. I thought it fell on its face story-wise.foxhound_foxI haven't played Majora's Mask but aren't all the Zelda's from A Link to the Past to Twilight Princess basically the same story-wise? Link is hero, hero must gather Master Sword and Triforce to defeat ultimate evil... hero gathers Master Sword and Triforce and faces off against ultimate evil, then fights Ganondorf. No, MM is actually such a drastic change in story that it's quite funny that it still feels so much like a traditional Zelda game while not being a traditional Zelda game. Edit : I guess because it has the same basic principles.
Majora's Mask for me as well, despite being linear liek the others all the side quests , time manipulation, the masks etc gave you the impression you had multiple options and that it was more diverse.

Nope, Ganondorf isn't even mentioned on MM...or the Triforce...or even, well you get the point.
