[QUOTE="baddog121390"][QUOTE="Pro_wrestler"][QUOTE="baddog121390"] Art **** won't help games cheat their way up to Crysis level. It's simply generations ahead in every area. Crysis is the biggest technical achievement since Doom or Quake. This ain't Half-life 2 with higher res textures, or Doom 3 with better shadows. Crysis does it on every level and adds completely new technical things. Pro_wrestler
Meh, you didnt get my point. I honestly don't see what the fuss is about. Crysis looks amazing, even more amazing technically. From what I see thats coming to PS3/360 looks on par with Crysis visually, without all the technicalitys in between and before this generation of gaming is over, I believe we will even see games that are technically on par with Crysis, catching it visually wont be a problem as I believe some games coming out this year look just as good or better in some aspects:). Thats my opinion, a reasonable one at the very least.
By then, id Software, Valve and Epic will be pumping out DX10 powered games on the PC. Maybe even DX11.Â
True. Will consoles catch PC spec games at the same time? Nope. Will consoles catch Crysis level games? Yes and by the end of this generation to. The only thing I see in Crysis that blows consoles away is the enviornment/destructabiliy, but as far as character models I have to say that they are not to far apart at all and they look absolutely amazing to say the least.
Agreed. Once devs get more familiar with the new consoles hardware, they could probably find ways to emulate a lot of the visual techniques Crysis is doing. Yeah, Oblivion took a major hit from its PC counterpart, but that was also very near launch. I think in time, Crysis could be consoles.
