Every game that I hope might be good, that isn't a 1st/2nd party Nintendo game, turns out to be completely average at best.

Modern Warfare: Reflex being a great example of this...

I mean how can Treyarch still not get the basic pointing controls right, probably the most important thing they needed to get right in this Wii version, even after all the other examples out there were other developers are finally starting to get decent FPS controls (The Conduit being a good example of good FPS controls, and Quake Wii Homebrew is a great example of top notch FPS controls on Wii too)?

Is there EVER going to be a multi-plat game on Wii that isn't just total disappointment!

I mean I can live with slightly inferior graphics but only if things like the controls are spot on. Without the controls being nailed, really the only thing that differentiates the Wii from the other systems in a supposedly good way, then really what is the F'N point in the Wii version at all!

Can we just have one proper AAA+ 3rd party title on the God Damn system please!

Mess with the control settings. Neogaf seems to love the gameplay.

Maybe 2009 was just really bad. None of the released Games really interested me this year.. just watch the Top Wii Games (This Year) List on GS.. New Super Mario Bros Wii will be the only Title I'll buy for my Wii - That makes 1 bought game for the Wii this year. I think 2010 will be much better. Other M, Galaxy 2 and NMH2 are instant buys so far :)

Overly blurry graphics, that undermine anything else graphically to do with the game imo, and it doesn't even use the Wiimote pointer at (in a game where pointer control would have so obviously been perfectly suited, and vastly superior imo, rather than the slightly clumsy analog controls they settled for)...

Yup...all you need to know about me for sure.

i bought a wii in nov, 2006 because media exaggerated it and it was the cheapest new generation console.

graphics is dated, and its remote controller becomes boring after a while.

but my parents, grandparents, and my 2 years nephew love it. lol

IMHO, wii is disappointing if you are a real gamer.

wii is a console for family, children, and casual players.

oajlu

That's about how I feel right now. I would say it's not only disappointing for lots of "real gamers" but more so for many long time gamers who have experienced certain high standards and levels polish from their games over the years and expect it in current Wii games if they are to think of them as anything other than just average or for casuals and noobs.

This is pretty much common knowledge at this point. The Wii fanantics however will not face reality on this one. The average Wii owner is simply not a gamer and denial by its loyal fanbase will not change this fact.

Ah there's some good games on it. Little King's Story, Madworld, Anno and Muramasa are all awesome 3rd party games from 2009. I do agree with you though, Wii isn't getting any "blockbuster" type games from 3rd parties, and probably never will.

In 2009, the Wii has had 11 third-party exclusives alone (!) in the Metacritic Wii Top 50 with a score of 80+. So much for that.

As to this thread in particular, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The controls of MW: Reflex are absolutely perfect. Have you even played it?

I am a 360/Wii owner with a HD/5.1 setup. I play the Wii just as much as I play the 360, mainly for single-player. Explain.

That is one of the dumbest, ignorant and lame argument this gen, no system can determine if i'am a real gamer or not.

I'm a real gamer and i have a Wii, nop, i'm not disappointed with it, in fact, in hyped with some upcommig games.

i had NES, SNES, PS, Wii, and PS3, but wii isthe mostdisappointing console.

Even 2004 PC games like doom3 and halflife 2 have much better graphics than wii.

When I played NES, SNES, and PS in late 80s and 90s, their graphics was quite decent at that time.

motion sensor? it's nothing new. They already has a gun controller on NES for cowboy duel and hunting games.

casual players and kids dont care about graphics, and they are even happy with facebook flash games.

The controls from what I have read on IGN AU's review suffer from exactly the same issues as WAW, if not a little worse even, so I really don't see how that makes them perfect. The inability to move the cursor small degrees and have it register that motion accurately pretty much negates Wii pointer control entirely imo and absolutely ruined WAW for me. Maybe I just have higher standards than to accept total crap I suppose.

Treyarch have put in a shed load of effort for the amount of time they have had to do this, and it isnt a shoddy product at all. Other impressions highlight the controls as being absolutely bob on.

I agree with the TC about third party efforts. There are some truly fantastic games, but (at least in the West), there has not been an AAA level of development for a piece of software. I expected this to change after the Wii's first year; Nintendo certainly left a tidy openning for third parties to make a killing.

However, everyone that plays a videogame relatively habitually is a gamer. Including the "casuals".

I am a 360/Wii owner with a HD/5.1 setup. I play the Wii just as much as I play the 360, mainly for single-player. Explain.

Play the game, instead of basing off your opinion on someone else's

Cod WaW and Reflex say otherwise, I admire their work

You admire their work but do not even know the title of the game? It is actually COD4 Modern Warfare Reflex.

Overly blurry graphics, that undermine anything else graphically to do with the game

Yeah, because graphics is all that matters. And Reflex is great, have you even PLAYED THAT GAME?

Blurry graphics PLUS a completely wasted opportunity to take advantage of the Wiimote's pointer controls and pretty much the only thing that really differentiates Wii from the competition imo. Don't just delete stuff you don't want to hear to make your argument sound better. It just does the exact opposite imo.

Little King Story is one of the best games this year.

Buy it, stop crying.

Like I said:

"Can we just have one proper AAA+ 3rd party title on the God Damn system please!"

Not some "great for Wii" game that is really just completely average and would actually be aknowledged as such on any other f'n platform!

No More Heroes, exclusive third party title. 9.0 at gamespot. How is that NOT a proper 3rd party title?

Put that game on any other competing next-gen platform and it wouldn't even be a contender. Yet because it's on Wii it's considered a 9.0 game...

It's a completely average game in pretty much every single way...but on Wii it is of course some "special".

Man, I appreciate your opinion, and you're welcome to it. I only ask that you

a) give this game a chance. trust me, it's great.

and

b) give the Wii a chance. trust me, it's great.

Whatever. WAW had crap controls and despite the customization this game reportedly suffers from the very same issues that ruined WAW and supposedly it's even a little worse now. You can pull out all the crap arguments you want but if IGN tells me the controls don't pick up small movement properly I'm pretty much going to believe them since the exact same issue was present in WAW and I have played that.

The game is completely average in pretty much every single way from graphics and presentation to controls and gameplay. There really isn't anything special about it, outside of it's quirkiness and cartoon violence, but it's got some gimmicks that Wii owners desperately need to cling onto to believe they have some really good games on the system.

Gears of War and Uncharted 2 are completely average in every way possible, from gameplay to story. Yet they've got the graphics that the HD console owners need to desperately cling onto to believe that they have some really good games on their systems.
