not that anyone is hyping Manhunt 2 for wii, but now thats AO, i think that many parents will be turned off by it and many people wont even be able to get it (at least from popular chains taht actually give a **** about selling to minors)

Not only that, but the fact taht its coming to the ps2 would mean that a lot more versions of the ps2 will sell than the Wii cause the ps2 is still way more dominant than any console out now. I think the AO rating really killed it for manhunt 2 to be a massive hit on the wii like it would have been otherwise.

I wonder how gory it is to have such a rating though.

I don't think it really matters because most game stores don't carry AO-rated games anyway.

^^^ For those hoping to play the AO version on Wii, it's not going to happen. Ninty dosent allow AO games on it's systems.

Rockstar and Take-Two are getting owned from all sides here... damn, I almost feel sorry for them.

Nintendo does not sell or license games that carry the ESRB rating

doesn't mean a 3rd party couldn't.....

I dunno. Don't console manufacturers make money by licensing the rights to make games for their system? Is this disclaimer referring to that licensing agreement, or a publisher's licensing agreement to a developer?

Yeah, Nintendo has to give their seal of approval, a.k.a. license. That's how they were in the NES days, I only assume that's how they are now.

Parents need to be educated about the ESRB's rating system. Just banning games or pulling them from shelves because they carry a "taboo" rating because "games are for kids" is not the right course of action.

I can buy movies like Hostel in Wal-Mart, why can I not by Manhunt 2?

I find it fine as well, I just don't see the reason to pull it off of shelves because of an 18+ rating. Just keep it out of kids' reach, behind the counter, whatever.

Manhunt 2 for the PS2 is also an AO game.

I don't get why people fail to remember that.

R* isn't happy with the rating. They will likely try to tone it down a fewnotches. >_>

I'm trying to figure that out right now...
