Manufacturer says PS4 is on track to release in 2012

What i cant understand is why M$ would want to release a new console in 2012-2013.Halo 4 and GTAV will be coming next year for the 360 so that means if the rumors are true,the xbox 3 wont have the new halo or GTA,which will result in everybody keeping their 360s and not buying a xbox 3.It doesnt make sense for Sony or M$ to release a new console till at least 2014.

I expect an annoincement at 2012 but a release date at 2013 or early 2014 anyway this rumours are most likely not true.

2012 is a tad to early for my likings. Sony needs to chill, as with Microsoft. The Wii U will be released in 2012, so the smart decision for Microsoft and Sony would be to wait up and see how people react to the Wii U. If the Wii U fails, launch the consoles end 2013. If it succeeds, Early 2013. Also, don't give the new consoles the whole "YOU ARE THE CONSOLE DERP HERHERHERP" Because this will make 70%* of gamers switch to PC.

*Statistic was made up by an idiot. Don't believe it. it's probably 10% off or something.

Silly article and since Sony hasn't said a word, it's just not true, maybe Sony is secretly building up stock of parts and threw this company a bone saying it was for the PS4 and they speculated that is being manufactured right now when in fact it could be a stocking up of components so they can get the action started as soon as necessary.JohnF111

or maybe Sony hasn't said a word because they don't want to hinder any new PS3 sales. Perhaps they want to go the route a different route and support a PS3 and PS4 on the market. One catering to one type of consumer and the other, to another.

Kinectstation 4!!!! The way I see it is that Devs are already starting to find true uses for the kinect technology and will undoubtadly take the immersion of gaming further through its implimentation, what we say in a forum isnt truth nor is it listened to... I have always maintatined that proper kinect functions can simultaneously be more interesting and fun than what the best Wii games had to offer as well as create a new level of immersion in a game. I have no problem with it.

I don't believe this article at all. Why would Sony have Kinect like motion controls for the PS4 since they have the PlayStation Eye? Plus, woudn't they be abandoning the Move? I think the PS4 will be revealed next year at E3, but launching in 2013. That's my guess.

They can easily add the Move into the formula. Just like people on PC have been using the Kinect and the Move together to get 1:1 action movements, among other things.

While I highly doubt it I wouldn't be completely surprised if it were true. With PS Vita being released in some regions in 2012 I think it would be a little much for Sony to release the PS4 in the same year. I personally think they will release it in 2013. If anything MS will be releasing a new console in 2012. Both could easily be announced at E3 2012 though.

It seems like a long shot. I mean, it wouldn't make sense to release a console in 2012 when it hasn't even been announced so I think it might come out on 2013, but 2012 just doesn't seem likely.

With MS saying that the 360 is half way through it's life cycle, I'm thinking Sony will also follow. Nintendo isn't a threat to the big 2BodyElite
