They put up this random save the date trailer. Thoughts, SW? Are you excited for Bungie’s upcoming shooter?

If there isn't a robust SP campaign, I'm not interested.

Meh, I'll be happy if there's meat to the experience and it isn't a reiteration of Destiny's never ending grindfest.

But it better be a stellar success because that's been Sony #1 goal the entire generation to have a real banger money spigot GaaS.

Not to mention how this might stir some shit internally given Bungie and their input over everything from all the other development teams and throwing a wrench in all of their projects and essentially being responsible for a lot of SCE's bloodletting austerity and continual delay.

Looks cool. We get to see if Sony learned anything from Concord. If Bungie can't put out a good GaaS, Sony needs to just completely give up in that field. Normally, I don't go for GaaS games but this Marathon has insane visuals I'm actually taking an interest in it.

More live service slop, well at least it's a new game from Sony, and should last longer than Concord, well you hope lol.

There's a solo mode so that's good, but I don't know if it's for me anyway.

There hasn't been a breakout extraction shooter yet. Maybe it's not a game type that will catch on with enough people.

Bungie and Sony working together doesn't exactly have me feeling great about this. Add to it the fact this is multiplayer-focused and I don't like what little I've seen of it, and just...meh. Not hyped.

As always, though, I hope it's good! I don't hate games nor wish ill to them because no one wins in that scenario.

Given Bungie's talent and resources, I'm kind of surprised they didn't make something independent. But I guess they got a taste of that AAA money from Halo and Destiny and there's no going back once that greed has touched your life.

Yeah, would like to see more gameplay like that. I don't like the hyper-fast pacing of COD multiplayer. I also don't like the slow pace of COD Warzone lol.

I prefer the pacing of Battlefield or other games like that. Sadly last BF game wasn't great.

Bungie is launching it on the same day as Borderlands 4? Randy isn't going to like that his game ran out of steam because I rather play Marathon It's new and fresh compared to BL as that franchise got stale really fast after Tiny Tina Wonderland.

@R4gn4r0k: Well yeah that was in the original reveal. I was expecting a Switch 2 version to be announced but that didn't happen oddly. Sony said their service games were going to be cross platform, so I would expect other upcoming live service games to do this too.

“Since live service titles are released on multiple platforms, the key to success is how to attract new players and increase the number of players,” said Hulst when asked about the game. “Therefore, maintaining momentum at the time of release and broad player adoption is especially important in the live service sector.”

Looks good, looks like there's a lot more to it than I thought, but not for me.

Trios, 18 teams, extraction based gameplay...whatever happened to the arena shooters that were so prominent during the PS360 days? Just give me my TDM, elimination, domination, capture the flag game modes. Does seriously no one want to play arena shooters outside of CoD?

I played Halo Infinite at launch, probably played it from 2021-2022 or so. It was fun don't get me wrong just lacking a lot and typical modern monetization. Charging $10 for new armor colors was wild
